Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a RARE 1933 Dodge "Humpback" Panel Truck. I am selling this for my mother as part of my step-father's estate. He had purchased this truck with the intent to restore it but never got to it. Exterior: Overall the sheetmetal and paint are in very good condition. The truck would make a great driver as it stands now but there are some areas that could use some work to really restore it to original condition. The doors close solidly indicating that the truck is still very straight. There is a small area near the back passenger side of the truck that has been repaired at some point. There is no rust evident there, but there is evidence of some Bondo. Overall the sheetmetal and paint are in very good condition. The original (fabric or leather?) roof inserts above the cab and cargo areas of truck were replaced at some point by what appear to be plastic sheets screwed into place. The front bumper is missing. It was not with the truck when my step-father purchased it. Interior: This was a bare-bones delivery vehicle and as such the interior is pretty spartan. It includes only a driver's seat and there are no interior panels in the cab or rear of the truck. Some of the wood floor boards show signs of some rot, so some repair work would be required there. Engine: The engine was last run about a year ago, at which time the truck was put into storage, where it sits now. There seems to be a small coolant leak at one of the hoses, so I'd recommend the buyer plan on inspecting and/or replacing the coolant hoses. I have included pictures but if there is something else you would like to see, or you have any questions, please contact me prior to the end of the auction. I have the truck for sale locally so reserve the right to end the auction early if a local buyer is found. This truck is being sold as-is and there is no warranty. As the engine has not been run for over a year, the buyer should plan on trailering or shipping it home. $500 non-refundable deposit within 24 hours of the end of auction, and one week to make payment in full unless you contact me to make other arrangements or truck will be re-listed. Will accept payment via cash, or bank check. Buyer is responsible for shipping. No foreign bidders or bidders with zero feedback. On Oct-02-14 at 09:40:02 PDT, seller added the following information: Additional Information: It was brought to my attention by someone apparently very knowledgeable about these trucks, that despite what the title says, this is actually a 1935 truck. Ebay will not allow me to edit the listing at this point to correct the year, so I am including this information here in the interest of full disclosure. The note I received is quoted below: "Just so you are aware, you do not have a 1933 production truck. Your numbers are for a 1935 late production First Series style truck. A couple of things would indicate the diff between these trucks. Although all three years have suicide doors ( except post-May 1935 ) the '33 has a tube front axle, not an I beam. The headlamps for the '33 ( yep, could be changed ) are TWILITE. Yours should be DEPRESS BEAM...and the last quick check ( besides the serial number ) is the 3-hole dash gauges. ALL 1933 cars and trucks to 2-ton had the squared oval face, with a dash gauge insert containing the gauges. This should not affect the value, just the correct production year ( regardless of any previously existing paperwork...except a cert of origin )."
