This is a family-owned, number matching 1964 Ford Falcon Futura with 6 cylinder 200 cu. in. engine and automatic transmission. The current owner inherited the car from his father in 2000 when he passed away. His father purchased the car new in Arlington, VA in 1964. The family moved to Coronado, CA in 1971 and it has been in Southern California since then. It has always been garaged. The father kept up with the maintenance of the car throughout his life, keeping meticulous, chronological records of all the services performed. The entire service receipts up to present are included with the car. In 2000 at 91,657 miles, the car went through a restoration costing over $10,000. The receipts of this restoration are also included and posted in the linked album. Since the restoration, it has been driven only 900+ miles and the odometer now reads 92,572. The car starts, idles and runs with no problems and the transmission shifts smoothly. Brakes feel solid and secure. Since restoration, the car has also been garaged and under a cover. Mechanicals: The car was checked thoroughly in 2000 and was found to be in good running condition. Everything works except what's noted. Most mechanical components were left as original. - New exhaust pipes and muffler. - New brake hoses & fluid, front & rear wheel cylinders and master cylinder. - Horn repaired. - There is a slow oil leak from the transmission housing. - The fuel gauge works intermittently. Cosmetics: - The car was re-painted in the original Sunlight Yellow in 2000. The paint is bright and glossy with no bubbling, fading or oxidation. There are some minor scratches and chips that have been touched up which are too small to be seen in photos.- The body panels are straight. - Much of the exterior chrome and stainless parts were replaced or re-chromed. However there are minor pitting on some pieces after 14 years. - New front & rear windshields and gaskets. - All weatherstripping replaced. - Coker Classic white wall tires have 95% treads remaining. - Original upholstery in Light Beige Metallic is in excellent condition with no rips including the parcel shelf. - Headliner and carpet were replaced. - New package tray - Some new window cranks and door handles - It appears to be rust free except there is some rust under the trunk filler board.- The plaid trunk mat is original, but patched with tape. - Original spare tire in the trunk.- Original jack and lug wrench are included.- Original owners manual is included. - 1 set of original Ford ignition/door and trunk keys.
