Vehicle Detail
My wife purchased this Mercedes brand new in December 1991. She and I have been the sole drivers. When not driven, it has been garage kept the entire time. It has had all the required maintenance and repairs. We have documentation of the maintenance history and a thorough maintenance/repair record. I replaced all four tires with Continental radials and they only have about 6.000 miles on the new tires. The brakes, struts, rear shocks, tie rod ends, 2 window regulators, catalytic converter, muffler have been replace. The cassette player/radio was replaced with a CD player radio about 10 years ago. The sun roof does not tilt but only slides forward and back. The paint is all original with only a small amount of fading on the hood. There is not the first dent in the body. We always parked away from other cars and so there are almost no chips in the paint from doors being opened on the this vehicle. On Sep-26-14 at 07:26:31 PDT, seller added the following information: I have received several questions about the vehicle. I will attempt provide additional detail answering the previous questions and possibly answering any additional perspective buyer may have. The vehicle is mechanically sound. I just changed the oil and air filter. The transmission has been serviced twice strictly as preventative maintenance. The transmission shifts clean and crisp both up and down through all 4 gears. The vehicle IS nearly 23 years old. When my wife parks in the garage the vehicle does deposit a small drop of motor oil on the garage floor about the size of a nickel. Several years ago the valve cover gasket was replaced, typically the cause of most oil leaks on the 2.6L 190E. The vehicle leaks NO other fluids. We live in Va. Beach. It may snow in this areas 1-3 times a year. I also have a pick-up truck so when it snows the Mercedes doesn't leave the garage. Thus, the car is completely rust free, no rust....anywhere. In the one photo of the left side, there is a dark spot down at the bottom behind the left front wheel. The dark spot is where there is a small plastic insert in the body panel for the emergency jack. The paint has begun to flake off the plastic insert. Again, no rust. I have both original keys. I have all the original owners manuals and sales/delivery tickets. I have 2 additional service manuals. This is a nice, nice ,nice vehicle. On Sep-26-14 at 13:59:21 PDT, seller added the following information: I received another inquiry about the dark spot behind the left front wheel. It is not a hole. It is a plastic insert/cover over a port where the emergency roadside jack is inserted. The paint is peeling off the plastic cover. I have attached 2 additional photos to clear up the questions. The cover on the right rear is the same way. The A/C blows cold. It was converted to R-134 in 2003. The transmission was serviced twice. strictly as a preventative measure. It shift smoothly up and down through all 4 gears. The vehicle tracks arrow straight. The tie rod ends, struts and rear shocks were replaced and alignment completed. The front and rear flex disc were replaced on the drive shaft, thus no vibrations. The oil and air cleaner were just changed. The coolant and power steering fluid 3+or- years ago. It does not overheat and never has. It uses 1 quart of oil in 1,500-2,000 miles and always has. I am not a dealer and have no way to provide a temporary license plate. A temp tag will need to be obtained through the DMV in your state. On Sep-27-14 at 17:55:48 PDT, seller added the following information: I am posting some additional detail on the maintenance history of the car: The oil has been changed 37 times, an average of every 4,324 miles The air filter has been changed 11 times, an average of every 14,545 miles The transmission oil and filter has been changed 2 times and average of 53,000 miles The brake fluid has been changed 6 times, an average of every 23,000 miles Multiple other issues have been addressed to ensure this car was safe and dependable enough for my wife to drive. I am selling the car for a very simple reason; she wants a new Mercedes.
