For sale is my 1949 Oldsmobile Futuramic Rocket 88. It is a Oklahoma / Texas car. I bought the car several years ago from a well known collector that had it kept in a climate controlled environment along with many other collector cars.I never planned on selling the car but due to circumstances I have decided to sell it. Nothing to do with the car itself. It is a great car that runs and drives very nice. The engine is a 303 overhead V-8 . This was the first year for the overhead valve engine and was the fastest car in 1949. The 49 olds was a pace car that year and was the car to beat on the Nascar track. The engine is super smooth . does not leak , knock ,smoke or blow by. The engine is amazingly smooth and quite. I replaced the fuel pump , carburetor and cleaned the fuel tank. The hydramatic transmission shifts well also and does not leak a drop. The interior is perfect and loaded with chrome as seen. The body is laser straight with no previous repairs. Really a nice car. The options are radio that works, factory clock and air conditioning. Im assuming the air conditioning is dealer add on.? All the components are there except the under dash unit which is missing. The windshield visor and the fender skirts options are in excellent condition as well. I removed the skirts for I prefer the looks without them , but they come with the car as seen in the pictures. The car looks as good in person as it does in pictures. All the gauges work as they should including the fuel gauge. I cant think of anything else. Call me for any questions at 817-915-4034 , Mark.
