Vehicle Detail
Available is a very original Volvo P1800E. It has the original 2.0L engine 99K miles. It has a 4 speed transmission, the clutch does not slip, it has factory A/C, and factory rare alloy wheels with matching 5th spare. These cars are rare, and the market is appreciating. I bought it from the previous owner who has owned her for the last 33 years. While I was on vacation over the 4th of July, I noticed her in a garage by my parents' house on Hilton Head Island. I asked the owner if he was interested in selling her. He said yes, because he was moving back to Colorado and couldn't bring her back with him...my lucky day!! I towed her back to Nashville and did some basic maintenance (plugs, wires, distributor cap, points, rotor button, fuel filter, air filter.) I removed the gas tank and cleaned it out and re-installed it. The electronic fuel injection works perfectly. She starts first time every time, no smoke, no engine noise. I've had a blast driving here around town. Also, the P1800E has the most horsepower of all the 1800's. It does have a small oil leak. I haven't investigated, nothing major. It's rare to see one of these that hasn't been modified or stripped down. It has all its original glass, working radio, horn works, as well as lights, wipers, heater, AC blower works (belt is off of compressor), so currently no air. It has the original leather rear seat hold down straps too! The dash isn't cracked as she has been garage kept since the 80's. The doors close tightly, and the windows roll up and down nicely. I have the original rubber Volvo floor mats too. The jack assembly is in the trunk, along with the spare. Everything under the hood is original and correct, including the complete exhaust system. I consider this car a true survivor. It has 4 wheel disc brakes which are a little soft. The consensus regarding the paint is that it's original. If it had a repaint, it would have been between 1971 and 1983. The second owner never had the car painted. The paint looks great from 5 feet, but eventually I would recommend painting her, because there are small imperfections in the paint, aka crows feet. She was a Texas car for most of her life, then to Colorado, next to South Carolina, and now Tennessee. There is a small section of rust behind the rear wheel on the left side, and a couple small spots in the trunk (as shown in pictures). Other than that she is rust free with all original panels and floors. Again, no rust issues! It's funny, I've had people think its a Porsche, Ferrari, Aston Martin, or an Austin Healey when they first see it. Sold as is, where is with no warranty. I reserve the right to end the auction early because I may also list her locally. Please ask questions before you bid, anyone with negative or zero feedback get with me before bidding or I will retract your bid. A $500.00 non refundable deposit is required at the end of the auction. I have a couple of transport companies I can refer you to for shipping. Cost is typically .75/mile. Feel free to call me to discuss as well. Chris 615-nine48-7236. Thanks!!
