Vehicle Detail
1992 R100GS Paris Dakar model (PD) with all the usual, recommended, and even luxury modifications and parts that make this a top notch, non-computerized, carbureted, dual sport beast. Located in Pittsburgh, PA and for sale locally (so this auction may end early for local bidder). You must be willing to pick up or arrange for shipping on your own. I am willing to help whenever possible, also I can send more details, pics, videos, whatever you need, but I can't handle any kind of crating, shipping, and so on. Contact me if you have questions as you should NOT purchase this if you have no method of picking it up. The motorcycle has apx 68,650 miles. She has heated grips, two BMW accessory plugs (one by leg and one mounted to handle bars), a BMW high fender (also a BMW OEM low fender and Maier High Fender included in spare parts box), OEM luggage, a single BMW (TEAL!) seat and rear rack along with the standard OEM two-up seat. Modifications, alterations, and additions: -The highly necessary circlip machining on the output shaft and transmission service (including new bearings, seals, gaskets, output shaft, a shorter 1st gear, and longer 5 gear) performed by Ted Porter in 2011. -New Wilbers Shock with 59-105-215 spring (also set up by Ted Porter in 2011). -Highly necessary machining of driveshaft to make it greasable (adding zerts, new U-joints, service, etc) machined by Guy Henderson and currently fully greased (2011). -New OMEGA 450 watt charging system by Motorrad Elektrik (2011) -Nippondenso Starter Motorrad Elektrik (2008) -Dynacoil by Motorrad Elektrik (2007) -Hvy Duty Ignition Control Unit and bracket by Motorrad Elektrik (2011) -Keihan Y piece collector box replacement (2011) -San Jose Fork Brace (2011) -Odyssey PC925L (2010). -PIAA 1100X Driving Lamp Kit (2011). -PIAA H4 bulb (2011) -Fastway Evolution Driver pegs (big improvement over OEM footpegs 2008) -Touratech Sumpguard ($55 in 2004) -Complete bearing, boots, o-ring and service overhaul on final drive (By Neil Barker in 2012). -Flashing LED taillight (forget maker and price, 2008). -Chrome luggage racks from a ’95 Classic PD. -Stainless brake lines. -New clutch, main seal, oil pump gasket, and associated parts (2011) (I had the transmission for the aforementioned service so I figured I may as well do the clutch while I’m there). -Carbs rebuilt in May 2010: new floats, pins, diaphragms, jets, screws, springs, butterflys. -Front forks seals, drained, cleaned, new oil-10wt. (2010) -New Steering Head Bearings (2010) -Metzler Tourance at about (2012 currently 75% apx 6 mm tread depth) -New Brakes (2012) -All OEM parts from Max BMW (all hail!) -Pulse air system removed (though comes with sale). -Handlebar choke (under-the-tank) removed and replaced with at carb choke pulls.-Heads retorqued, valves and carb sync done yesterday, and engine oil change done (02AUG14). She’s ready to ride anywhere. -tool kit and OEM manual. -box of spares, odds, ends, freebees, and gimmes including all sorts of extra parts, gaskets, bulbs, springs, and so on. The cons: -Pushrod seals on the right side have a little weeping but I gave them a whack with the associated tool yesterday and that seems to have stopped them. The motorcycle comes with a spare set kit in the spares box nevertheless. Drop me a line and I can post some short videos. I am willing to accommodate requests for additional pics/videos/whatever. Unless otherwise noted I’ve done any and all repairs and scheduled maintenance so I can answer most questions about the bike. I’m the third owner and keep a meticulous service schedule and history as did the owner before me. All those documents are a part of the sale. If something ever seemed wrong, out of whack, or ready for replacement, I fixed it. It has a clear PA title in my possession. I am lifelong airhead owner, operator, and hobby mechanic who’s owned, operated, and maintained R65, R80, R90, R100, and K75 motorcycle models. For legalities sake I'll just say that this motorcycle is sold in as-is condition with no warranties or guarantees issued or implied.
