Vehicle Detail
This Le Mans is something special with the 326 v-8, 4 speed transmission, center counsel, bucket seats and power top, power steering and power brakes. Everything works on the car. Starts right up, turn signals work, lights work, top goes up and down. The car looks to be have been painted one time. The paint is rather old and looks like it is from the 80's. The paint is holding up well, there is some weather checking on the top left rear quarter and there is a paint chip on the right rear quarter. The car has been stored inside. The condition of the car is very nice. The fenders, doors and quarters are rock solid. I do not see any signs of rust. The floors and trunk are very clean. There are a couple small areas that look soft, but no holes. The frame is like all Pontiac's, it has some rust in the corners. The front left corner will need some attention now or later. There is no rust around the control arms. The interior is in super shape. Besides the split on the drivers back seat, the interior is in awesome shape. Door panels are excellent, passenger's seat and back seat are also in outstanding condition. The drivers seat, bottom, is in excellent shape. All that needs to be done is have the back half of the drivers seat repaired. There is no rips or tears in the convertible top. It goes up and down with the power motor. The back plastic is discolored. This car is just too clean to be a Minnesota car. I believe it is southern car. The door jams and door insides of the fender areas are super clean. It has been well cared for over the years. Click the ignition and the car starts right up, brakes are good, but they could use an adjustment to bring the pedal up. No leaks on the exhaust. Overall, I would consider this a very nice un-restored daily driver. Le mans Trivia: In 1967 there was 104,902 cars produced. Only 9,820 of them were convertibles. Only 14% had the synchro-mesh 4-speed transmission. 11% had the 326 engine. When you to the statistics, it narrows it down to roughly 1,000 of these cars made. After 47 years, how many are left?
