Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is this 1962 Chevrolet Corvette. It belongs to a good friend of mine who I am listing it for. It took a lot of arm twisting to get him to let me list it. As you can see it is just sitting in the body shop taking on dust where it has been for the past couple of years. He tells me he wants to do the car up like a nostalgia hot rod but his shop is way to busy to get to it. So if ever you wanted a car like this to restore as an original, hot rod or, resto mod or the like here is your chance. This car will only be listed this one time so if your serious about owning it you are welcome to bid but please be ready to complete the transaction should you be the winning bidder. This car was sold new at Woodward and Austin Chevrolet a local dealer close to our town. I believe it had a total of 3 owners since new. I do have pictures of the original owner with the car when it was only a few months old. Originally it was Honduras Maroon, Small Block 4 Speed, etc. Over the course of the years the car last had been modified with a Big Block 427, 4 Speed and Side Exhaust and a color change. You are buying the complete rolling body and chassis. Included will be the original seats, hardware for the interior, all the chrome and stainless, bumpers, grille, lights, 4 original hubcaps, etc. A 396 Chevy Big Block Motor complete but apart (needs rebuilding), an aluminum case 4 Speed Trans with shiftier and the radiator. Whatever miscellaneous parts he has will be included. All the body panels on the car are original. as far as we know car was never hit. There are a couple of spots on the bottom of both front fenders that need a minor repair where the side exhaust bolted up. I believe the rear fender lips may have had a slight shave for the bigger rubber. Original hard top and soft top, hard top fits great to the body. Has a vintage style scoop molded to the hood which was common back in the day. Has a set of neat vintage aluminum slotted wheels with Mickey Thompson Tires. Has a cool vintage tach the name of it is Blue Chip. Dash is in good shape. Has a factory Wonder bar Radio. The glove box door was cut for an 8 track tape player that was removed. All glass is in good shape, has a tinted windshield. When the car was converted to a big block, there was a little modification on the front right frame rail for the exhaust and the left front frame rail was modified for the steering box. Someone did a good job. There is some rust through on the passenger side rear frame rail just in front of the back tire. Some minor rust in the same area driver side. It is very repairable. If you need pics of these areas just email. We will clean the car before it is picked up if that is your wish. Sold on a Maine registration and proper dealer transfer paperwork. Im sure I may have left something out that may be of importance to you. So feel free to call or email us at 1-207-324-5568 Days or 1-207-432-2862 Eves and Sundays.
