THE CATALINA IS IN MOSTLY UNRESTORED CONDITION, EXCEPT FOR ONE REPAINT. ENGINE BAY IS CLEAN BUT UNDETAILED. UNDERCARRIAGE IS SOLID BUT UNDETAILED. PAINT WAS DONE YEARS AGO. ALTHOUGH IT HAS BEEN WELL MAINTAINED, IT HAS NOT BEEN HIGHLY RESTORED. RARE, UNIQUE FIND. 1964 PONTIAC CATALINA SPORT COUPE. APPEARS TO BE PRIMARILY AN ORIGINAL, UMOLESTED TIME CAPSULE WITH ONE REPAINT, AND MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE UPGRADES. FULL PONTIAC HISTORICAL SOCIETY DOCUMENTATION. 46,124 MILES SHOW ON THE ODOMETER, APPEARS TO COINCIDE WITH CONDITION, BUT NO MILEAGE DOCUMENTATION. RUNS AND DRIVES AS WELL AS ANY CLASSIC CAR I'VE DRIVEN IN THE LAST 45 YEARS. EVERYTHING ON THE CAR WORKS EXCEPT FOR THE CLOCK. NEWER BRAKES AND TIRES, TUNE UP PARTS, EXHAUST, SHOCKS, MAINTENANCE, AND SERVICE. ORIGINAL 303 HP 389 CU. IN., FOUR BARREL ENGINE. ORIGINAL ROTO HYDRA-MATIC 10 TRANSMISSION. ORIGINAL REAR DIFFERENTIAL. ORIGINAL BLACK VINYL BUCKET SEAT INTERIOR. ONE REPAINT- ORIGINAL MARIMBA RED COLOR. ORIGINAL TRUNK MAT, JACK, TRUNK PANELS, AND SPARE TIRE COVER. ALWAYS STORED PROPERLY, HIGHLY MAINTAINED, AND DRIVEN LIGHTLY OVER THE YEARS. CLASSIC PONTIACS LIKE THIS DON'T COME UP FOR SALE TOO OFTEN. I have checked the body with my ETG Digital Thickness Indicator. Repainted several years ago in original Marimba Red color. A small repair, about 3 inches square, at bottom of driver front fender. A few bubbles on rear fender lips. Driver quality paint that has never been wet sanded and buffed. Has been polished to a nice shine. Driver door has a paint run right at the lower body line. Can't see it until you get close. Wet sanding would help minimize it. Glass is in very good shape. Stainless is in very good condition. Door handles are in good condition. Both bumpers are original. Front bumper is in very good condition. Rear bumper is in good condition, has some wear in the corners. A few small bubbles at the trim piece between passenger sail panel and quarter panel- very common. Driver side has none. There are labeled photos of these minor flaws in the Photobucket file. Single sport mirror is original and is in fair shape. 1963 spinner hubcaps in very good shape. Almost new P215/75R14 white wall radial tires. Fit and gapping of body panels is good. Original 25K coded 389 Cu. In., 303 HP engine with four barrel carburetor. 46,124 miles on odometer. Actual mileage not known for sure. Engine bay is clean, but left in original condition. Carb, intake, heads, engine, exhaust manifolds, starter all appear original. Starter is date coded February 4, 1964, but upon removal and inspection it has totally rebuilt internals. Carter ID tag is still on the carburetor. Spring ring battery cables. Engine bay is stock, with maintenance or repair upgrades. New hoses. New tune up parts. New dual exhaust. Newer brakes and radial tires. New rear shocks. Power brakes. Power steering. Needs heater core. Original Roto Hydra-Matic 10 transmission with original tag still on it. Original rear differential. As stated, starts, runs, and drives as well as any vintage car I've ever cruised in. Seats, cushions, and covers are in very good condition. Door panels are in very good condition. Slight deterioration on arm rests. Headliner is tight, not ripped or torn, clean, and in very good condition. Driver window regulator needs adjustment, doesn't close tight. Dash is also very good. Everything works except for the clock. Speedometer, odometer, lights, wipers, horn, turn signals, factory gauges, interior lights, and trunk reel light all work. Factory AM radio with reverb. Both the radio and the reverb work. Clock does not work. Front retracting seat belts. Carpet is very good. All interior trim work is in good condition. The trunk has two approximately 7" square metal patches in the two known problem spots, above the rear body mounts behind the rear wheel tubs. This was a factory design flaw. The support brackets held moisture and debris. Most of the original Pontiacs display this flaw. The remainder of the trunk floor is solid as a rock. Trunk has just been stripped and resplattered in black/aqua. The original jack is secured in the factory location by the original spring straps. Original mat has some tears, but it is still in the trunk. Original side panels and spare tire cover also still in the trunk. Factory original reel light. Both light and reel work. You can remove this light from the bracket and pull the light out(power wire is on a reel) to illuminate the area if you are changing a tire in the dark. Very cool Pontiac design. Undercarriage is not detailed and looks natural. Floors are solid, with most of the factory undercoating still present. Not pretty, but clean and solid. Frame is also solid. There are 24 photos in the ad, 137 photos in the Photobucket file, and two videos. If you look at everything, you will understand how unusual it is to find an unmolested, original example like this with matching components and PHS documentation. This is a special car. I have set the price low to sell the car. I don't believe there is another 1964 Catalina Sport Coupe out there currently for sale that offers what this one does.
