Vehicle Detail

Beautiful 1991 Mercedes-Benz 300D with 2.5- 5 cylinder Turbo Diesel and only 137.000 miles. All original with AutoCheck report available to prove the miles and the car's life cycle. Much more economical and more powerful than a 3.0 atmospheric 6 cylinder. It is a true Mercedes diesel that still manages to run on the smell of an oily rag; provided the oily rag is left in the fuel tank and covered in 10 gal of low sulfur diesel, which should last you about nine years (if you never drive the car). If you thought muscle cars were a thing of the past, think again. This Mercedes is probably one of Germany's most formidable street machines. In fact, Ford were lucky that these German tanks were produced before the first Super Duty, because it gave Ford something to strive for. It is a W124 body, one of the best ever manufactured by MB and just as bulletproof as 123 but more modern and comfortable with redesigned transmission and better climate control than W123. On first glance you may think that this is just another European taxi cab, aimed at practicality and economy. You're right. It just doesn't stop and gets up to 36 MPG HWY. But what Daimler put into these was a level of technology matched only by Sputnik satellite from the 1950s. Car is in excellent condition, has been my wife's daily driver and always garage kept. This automobile spent most of its time between Texas and Arizona and doesn't have even a single spider of rust on the body. Interior is immaculate, no chips, cracks or even tears in the dash, seats or anywhere. Old stereo system stopped working and I purchased a new after market stereo that needs to be connected. To me there is nothing better to the ears than a tractor clunking sound of MB's diesel. Original stereo comes with the car unless you really want me to rid off which I will charge a premium for. By the way for those of you crazy about original parts there's a place in CA that repairs original MB stereos. This road warrior still has a sticker on the windshield with Mr. Daimler signature on it, not Dimler-Crysler or other mass produced crap that took the famous Mercedes quality and burred it together with MB's legacy. Inspection was done a month ago with no problems and registration is up to date as well, despite the compliments from the shop owner and his multiple attempts to buy this car from me before I rolled out from his garage. All windows, sunroof, AC and climate control, falling back rests and cruise control are operational and work like new. The car is flawless and drives like a..... like a space ship. Once you take it on the highway you'll know what I mean. The only thing is the passenger door lock can't be opened with the key from exterior-bad cylinder. The part is about $140 from MB dealership but it never bothered me, as I believe it adds an extra protection option to the vehicle that again I'm not charging anything extra for. Why would open your car from the passenger side anyways? This car has been my baby and I invested quite a bit into it. Here's a list of parts that were replaced in couple of years: AC converted from R-12 (banned by EPA) to R-134 Delivery valves seals and gaskets (way too common on diesel Mercedes) Drive shaft flex discs Engine mounts Transmission mount Both front ball joints Both left and right tie rods Steering damper Almost all named above parts are LEMFĂ–RDER brand except for one tie rod and one engine mount which is Karlyn (both brands are the best OEM parts on the market) All around wheel alignment was done two months ago Fuel filter and pre-filter Radiator flush with scale removing and new coolant Transmission flush and new filter All around filters including power steering one Rear break pads Break fluid flush Bosch Air filter Light bulbs Mono windshield wiper (about 9 months ago) All oil changes were done with Mobil Super oil and Mobil or Wix oil filters. The most recent was done few weeks ago (receipts) Vehicle has two matching tires and two different brand tires. Rears are in great shape front ones are in good shape. My wife just bought a Prius (I know don't laugh, but it does drive on the pollen dispersed in the air and gets a decent mileage) and I travel way too much to enjoy this car as much as I used to (part of being an engineer). Even though have no need nor necessity to sell it, thus only reasonable offers will be considered. Folks with less than 10 positive feedbacks will be automatically excluded from bidding and may only be allowed to look at the pictures of this space shuttle. I would prefer a personal pick up but will certainly accommodate with a shipping and loading the car on the truck. You will need to arrange and prepay everything though. If you decide to fly to Houston, I will pick you up at the airport I will even invite you to lunch (included in the sale price of the car. Up to $30 value that can't be cashed, read the small print). Thanks for looking and happy bidding. Video is coming shortly but please don't expect a Stephen Spielberg quality as I'm not a Hollywood shark yet.
