Lets try this again ..... up for auction is my Metro Van ..... please read the entire posting before bidding or asking questions Thanks ..... 1961 International Metro Van ....... This is the Medium version .....115" wheel base 9 1/2 foot ..292 cubic foot metro van......6 cylinder, manual Trans, one seat, Van needs complete restoration ..... van starts, brakes are soft so I would not drive on the road, Van needs to be towed, it is approximately 5500 lbs....... has rust around front windshield and in rear quarters. The accelerator needs a return spring in order to make the gas pedal to work so when I start it it has to be done manually. The Engine runs and does not show any signs of oil burning ........exhaust is clean when running and starting ..... doesn't blow any smoke ...... that I can see or tell .... transmission goes into gear and moves but I have not taken the van on the road or run it through the gears ...... moves forward and moves into reverse ....... clutch engages at 1/2 pedal .......has been sitting all winter ...... will give it a fresh battery charge and get it running before pick up ....... This truck was originally a public works truck from Montana ..... it was then purchased by a cabinet maker from California ...... it spent most of its life near the ocean in the northwest coast part of California ....Concord area ...... the cabinet maker went back to his home country in Europe and then gave the truck to the woman I bought it from ..... she used to drive it to the area flea markets and sold items from the truck. The point came to where she couldn't drive anymore so she sold it ..... that's when I bought it ...... had it shipped here to Connecticut where it is now ...... I have had it since last year ..... have clear California title to it .... successful buyer will get title and bill of sale from me ..... time and money prevent me from fixing this iconic piece of american history. You don't find these anymore and would love to find a good home for it ....... van is being sold "as is" with NO warranty ..... no returns ..... I recommend you coming to look at it so you know what your getting yourself into .....
