Exterior Condition: Original Paint is in good condition & glossy but shows the typical imperfections of GM’s Van Nuys Plant low VOC paint of the era. There is no de-lamination, but has some areas of minor craze-ing. Had some touch-ups when new due to Dealer Lot Rash. A new paint job would be a great investment to restore to factory condition – depends how particular you are. Original Top is not faded and has like new Clear Rear Window! Alloys Wheel are like new. For a more subtle sophisticated look I removed the large IROC-Z door decals and stripes (silver over yellow) when the car was new. New decal kits are still available to replace if buyer desires the original decal look. ($229.00 @ rickscamaro dot com) 2 After-market additions – Colgan Custom Bra (one of the best - since day 2). Custom Body Molded Splash/Rock Guards (since day 2). The rear bow seal on the top needs replacing (detached at 1 corner since new) – I have a new seal but have not installed it as it does not affect the sealing of the top at all. Interior Condition: Is very good to excellent original condition – Seats have no tears/snags. Dash is like new - no cracks – fading - warping. Weather-stripping is soft & pliable. Still has Original factory cassette (UX1) - AM stereo* - FM stereo radio/ w/graphic equalizer with (U75) power antenna. Rear Speakers have been re-foamed. Stereo Volume Balance Pot needs cleaning but otherwise works well. Only signs of fading are on the rear hump - all the black plastic parts are still very black and gauge cluster plexi-glass is clear. Maintenance Condition: Recent Tune-up (mileage–wise). New Plugs – Wires – Cap – Rotor – Refurbished Bosch Injectors - Coolant Flush & Change - Transmission Oil & Filter Change - New Remy 105 Amp Alternator. New Hood Shocks. AC has been converted to R134a and holds a charge well. Engine is tight and clean w/no oil use, or unusual noises. A couple of minor drips when stored over the winter. Only used Mobil 1 & FRAM Filters since new. Steering is tight, Struts / Shocks are still very good. A lot of Pad left on the Brakes. Up-coming items: Front Wheel Bearing Repack & may need a Fuel Level Sending Unit (gauge works but seems a little inaccurate at times). Battery is good but may need replacing in a year or 2. Extras: 2 Owner’s Manuals (1 Unused) / Convertible Owner’s Manual / Original Factory GM Service Manual w/ GM SCAN Tool (you want both of these if you will be doing your own maintenance) / Original Showroom Brochure / Dealer Order Guide / Production Data / MVMA Specification Data Sheets, and other Camaro memorabilia. New rear bow seal, used full Instrument Cluster (both from e-bay). I still have & saved most the original used parts – Cap / Wires / GM Injectors / Delco Remy Alternator (needs a bearing) / Original GM Carpet Floor Mats if you want them. The Car’s Story: I purchased the car on vacation on 5/11/88 at Courtesy Chevrolet in Phoenix and have virtually been the only driver for 26 plus years. I will be retiring soon and need to downsize. This is a Rust Free / Dent Free / Solid car. Handled with Respect, Well Maintained, and Always Garaged since new. This car has not been driven in winter - Always Stored from mid Oct - mid April. Other than a few holes drilled to mount the rock guards and removing the decals there have been no other modifications - the car is about 98% original. It gets 20+ MPG on Highway.
