Vehicle Detail
1965 Corvette $45,000 OBO First and foremost - this is a NOM vehicle - It presently has a 1974 454 CI Big Block with a 4160 750 cfm Holley carburetor mounted on an aluminum manifold. Total miles since restoration is under 8,000. Many new parts were installed when restored. The paint, convertible top and interior are all in excellent condition. It runs smooth and strong. I have owned this vehicle for 20 years and it has never missed a start or left me stranded. The car has never been driven with the top up! I had a '76 Corvette with a T-Top and said if I ever got a convertible I'd never drive it with its top up - I've lived to that rule. The car is also equipped with an AM/FM radio, power antenna, Muncie 4 speed transmission, knock off wheels, side pipes, real wood steering wheel - AND - Power steering and Power Brakes. What that means is that you can actually turn and park this vehicle without pulling a muscle. I also have the orange valve covers and black air cleaner cover - I just like chrome! This Corvette is an 'era correct' vehicle. Only the NCRS folks (yes, we need these guys to monitor unethical sellers) would be able to tell it is not a matching numbers vehicle. And it is therefore being sold as such - a non matching numbers vehicle. So If you want a matching numbers vehicle do NOT buy this vehicle. OR, if you want a vehicle that you can search the web for matching number parts, do NOT buy this vehicle (it will cost you more to change out the parts than to spend the big bucks up front for a matching number vehicle). Finally, if you just have to have a matching numbers vehicle do yourself a huge favor: 1. Make sure you get tons of supporting paperwork 2. Hire an expert to go through the vehicle to verify that the numbers showing are truly matching and not re-stamped and that the paperwork is not counterfeit (you can buy fake paperwork any day of the week), 3. Make sure that you look at the numbers on the block, heads, transmission, starter motor, axle, alternator, distributor, fan, manifolds and even the bolt heads holding the manifolds to the block - don't forget those date stamps too (they must be just prior to the vehicle build date), and 4. Be prepared to pay much more money than what I'm looking for. But - If you want a truly great vehicle to cruse in, one that will turn heads everywhere you go and fulfill a dream that you have had for a mid-year Corvette then this just might be the vehicle for you! There truly is nothing like a Red mid year Corvette convertible rumbling down the street! Bid with confidence and good luck
