Vehicle Detail

1970 GTO Convertible, Automatic, Air Conditioning, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Front Discs. Original numbers matching front to back, 3:23 12 Bolt Rear, Original and correct YS Motor with #13 heads. Build sheet still under seat. PHS Documentation. Motor and tranny are out of car but in my garage. The car was originally Baja gold with black top and interior. Earl Schieb paint job was put on it in the early 80's. Still shines but is crazed. Judge wing and hood tach most likely added at the same time. Been in storage since 86. Frame is super solid. No issues. Body is O.K. but shows issues behind passenger rear quarter and driver side floor. There is also evidence of work done to drivers side rear quarter during the repaint in the 80's, I do not know what is underneath. There has been work done on the body, just above the tail lights as noted in the pictures. The work looks good under paint, but metal was added and riveted on both sides. Also take note to the callouts on the photos for spots in the trunk that will require attention. Passenger side front fender has a metal patch on the belt line. Looks like a dent repair maybe. Interior is all there. Rip in the drivers side seat, dash has a crack above the glove box, door panels are a bit wavy. Convertible top has a tear in the passenger side in the typical spot. Speakers were cut into the original kicks but I have correct replacement black kicks for it. Original exhaust is gone but I do have a 2.5 that I will include. Will need new shoes, and I would replace any rubber that fluid touches. I have not been into this car too deep. If your looking, you know how these things go once you take them apart. But this one could back on the road (not restored) pretty easily. Located in Northeast Pennsylvania. According to Ultimate GTO, there were 3615 70 GTO Convertibles made. I am available to show the car to prospective bidders who wish to travel to see it. The previous owner drove this car into his garage in 1986 and pulled the tranny to have it redone. The tranny was redone and put back up into the car. For reasons unknown to me, he never hooked up the drive shaft and finished the install. I bought the car in 06 or 07 and from sitting 20 years the motor was stuck. I have put zero effort into unsticking it, and cannot comment with any certainty on the internals. I had another motor that was drop in ready anyway, so my plan was to put that in so I could drive the car while the original motor was getting redone. I pulled that original motor and tranny and they have been in my garage since then, and never away from the car I am not a dealer, the timing is just not right for me right now to do this car. Please note: The car is re-listed again. The first auction was a no-show bidder and the second was due to unplanned and unfortunate circumstances for the buyer. We do have a few rules now. First and foremost, absolutely no bids accepted from bidders with no completed transactions or feedback without prior contact. If this is you and you want the car, you will need to contact me to plead your sincerity. No bids from foreign countries, I will not even consider the aggravation of shipping this car overseas unless you are a prince or an oil sheikh, and prepared for a very large upfront, non refundable spend. I expect a 500 dollar non refundable down payment and expect to be contacted immediately at auction close to make arrangements to complete the transaction. I apologize it has to be that way. Also note: Because of the bad luck I have had with the two previous auctions, the car is listed for sale on other sites for the BIN. If someone pulls the trigger on the other sites the auction will be cancelled ,so if you are seriously interested in this car, don't wait. The price is extremely fair.
