Vehicle Detail
I have for sale a rare 1971 Opel GT. This is a great garage find. It has been sitting in the garage since 1991, and belonged to the last owner's aunt and uncle who were the second owner of the car. The gentleman bought the car from them because of what it was, but did not have the time to restore it. He did clean out the gas tank, and get it running and driving. It has a new battery and tires. It will need tuned up, and possibly the carburetor rebuilt, and it definitely needs brakes. Just the usual things from sitting around. The clutch and transmission seem to be in very good working order. It has a 4 four speed manual transmission, and it does have the good 1.9 engine. The car, of course, will need to be gone through to make it roadworthy since it has been sitting for awhile. This is a great restoration candidate, in the fact that it will run and drive, and has only minimal rust. It does have the usual belly pan issue, but that is common on these cars, and is an easy fix. The car looks great from a few feet away, and all the door jambs, etc, look great. I have posted pictures to show this, as to me that is a very impressive thing on an older car. The headlights do work, and it does have the spare tire and jack behind the vinyl cover in the rear, as it should. The radio is missing. I loved these cars when I was younger, and hope to see someone buy it,and get it back on the road, as you don't see many of them these days. It will need a restoration, but is presentable the way it is, as you can see in the pictures. If you are looking for an Opel GT to restore, this is a great one to start with. These cars restored are a very sought after item and are fairly expensive. Good luck, and happy bidding. If you are the winning bidder, I will need a $500.00 non refundable deposit within 24 hours of auction end, and the remainder of the payment within 7 days of the auction end. Payment will need to be in the form of cash, cashier's check, or bank transfer. The car and title will only be released once the funds have cleared. Please do not bid on the car unless you plan to follow through with the purchase. Any non paying bidders will be reported to Ebay. Again, this will make a great restoration project, and happy bidding.
