Vehicle Detail

This is a solid car in good condition. It runs well and has been very reliable. I bought this car around 1996 with 43K miles on it. It has only been driven on occasion over the past 18 years, in fact during the past couple years, I have only gotten it out to run it, change the oil, check the tires, The only rust that can be found is on the chassis. The under-body is in pretty good shape as well. The carfax is clean, but there appears to have been some inner fender repair before I owned it. I don't have many interior pics, but it is in pretty nice shape inside. There has been no chance for fading, cracking or damage due to UV, as this car has been indoor and under a cover when not in use since I've had it. The front seats show the wear consistent with the mileage, but no damage. Any known issues are as follows: Exterior (see picture of each):The paint needs some attention, particularly on the plastic.Paint cracks in rear bumper.A couple paint chips i front bumper.A paint chip in the molding in front of the left rear wheel.Molding around left rear window is somewhat faded.Driver side window molding is bubbling a bit at at one end. Mechanical:Wheels need balancing. Rear rotors 'may' need turning. Front were turned. Electrical:There is an issue with the front left speaker (or the radio). It doesn't work at low volume, but as the volume is turned up, it comes on. Other:Trans is damp with oil (maybe from rear of engine?). Other than the exhaust, and some window tint this car is stock. Recent repairs include new tires and a new Magna Flow exhaust. There are new tail lights, parking lights, and turn signals because the previous owner had those shaded covers which required drilling. The holes may be visible in some of the pics as they were taken before the lights were replaced. Value on these cars is starting to go up. This can be driven as-is, or someone could put some work into it and have a very nice rare 1993! Either way I am starting this no reserve auction at a very reasonable price! Here is some valuation info from Hagerty: "Date Condition 4 Condition 3 Condition 2 Condition 1 May-14 $10,200 $14,600 $21,500 $29,200 Jan-14 $9,400 $13,700 $19,600 $26,800 Condition 3: #3 cars could possess some, but not all of the issues of a #4 car, but they will be balanced by other factors such as a fresh paint job or a new, correct interior. #3 cars drive and run well, but might have some incorrect parts. These cars are not used for daily transportation but are ready for a long tour without excuses, and the casual passerby will not find any visual flaws. "Good" is the one word description of a #3 car. Condition 4: #4 cars are daily drivers, with flaws visible to the naked eye. The chrome might have pitting or scratches, the windshield might be chipped. Paintwork is imperfect, and perhaps the fender has a minor dent. The interior could have split seams or a cracked dash. No major parts are missing, but the wheels could differ from the originals, or the interior might not be stock. A #4 car can also be a deteriorated restoration. "Fair" is the one word that describes a #4 car." My opinion is that this is a "condition 3" or very nearly so. I will not end the auction early. It is not for sale locally. If you want it, put in a bid. I will not relist for a lower price. If it doesn't sell, it is going back in the bag. I have included as much information as I can, and I have taken a detailed picture with any possible issue I can think of. That being said this car is being sold "as-is" with no warranty what so ever. If you have any questions or need a picture of anything specific, please ask. Better yet, contact me to arrange to look in person and take a drive! As a follow up to the question below, here is some info on vin numbers from 1993cobra(dot)com:(this vin is 1facp42d1pf156593) "Decode your VIN and Door Tag VIN: This is the same number located on your dash tag viewed through the windshield. Here is a breakdown of the VIN: 1-Identifies the country manufactured (United States). If you have ever seen a Lightning VIN it will begin with a 2 for Canada. F- Manufacturer which is Ford A- Vehicle make and type Ford passenger vehicle C- simply to show the vehicle has active seat belts and an airbag. If this car were not to have an airbag and only active belts (no 93 Cobra exists) it would be the letter "B" just to give an example. P- Again identifies a Ford passenger vehicle 42- Tells us it is a 3 door hatchback GT series. An LX notchback would be 40 and an LX hatchback would be 41 just to give some examples. D- This is the single biggest identifier of an authentic 93 Mustang Cobra. This tells us it has the 5.0L Cobra engine. The only other year fox body Mustang to use this letter to identify the engine is back in 81-83. No other fox body Mustang will carry this letter in the VIN. Just a note, all 1993 Mustang Cobra's will begin with this sequence shown above in the VIN (1FACP42D)" On Jul-05-14 at 16:32:42 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE TO CONDITION: I was cleaning up today for a potential bidder to look at and I came across a couple things I need to add: I found a small cut in the driver seat, about 3/8" long that I never saw before. There is a slight amount of speckling from some paint over-spray that I forgot was there. Most of it is on the roof and you have to look pretty close to see. There are a few specks on the spoiler that are more noticeable. Perhaps buffing compound would take it off, but I have never done any buffing, so I haven't tried. I already have the maximum amount of pictures in the lisitng. If I can figure out how to get pictures in the description via HTML, I will do so. Or I can send via email. On Jul-05-14 at 17:17:57 PDT, seller added the following information: Here is the cut in the seat I found today. Here are the worst paint specs. Actually look worse in the picture than on the car. On Jul-07-14 at 17:50:41 PDT, seller added the following information: Here are the answers to questions I got today: There is no smoke on start up. I would say it probably is idling a little rough, particularly when the AC (which works) is on. When you you rev the engine, it does hesitate somewhat. Power seems fine. Im sure it could use a "tune-up". I think the only problem is that it doesn't get run enough. I don't think sitting for ~360 days out of the year is helps keep everything running well. I have at least been trying to burn a tank of fuel out a year so I can put in fresh gas and Stabil. I am not a mechanic, but I have never been concerned about engine/ drive-train on this car. To me the cosmetic issues have been the main considerations. There is nothing to my knowledge that is a concern with the clutch or trans. Title is in hand and clean. I will help the winner out with loading however I can. On Jul-07-14 at 18:31:07 PDT, seller added the following information: The question of VIN numbers came up a couple of days ago. Here is what I found on the VIN number locations that the owners manual lists: Right Rear Quarter: OK Left Rear Quarter: OK Hatch: OK Left Door: OK Right Door: OK Right Front Fender: OK (this is where there is inner fender repair-- see pic) Left Front Fender: Missing-- says only "Ford DOT" Hood: painted over and starting to peel off-- perhaps this happened to the LF fender. These are the only VINs listed in the owners manual. I was under the impression that there would be one on the engine and trans. I did not thoroughly look for those. I briefly looked on the engine, but I assume it is obscured from easy viewing.
