Up for auction is an original 1980 Chevrolet El Camino with the original 229 cu in V6 and factory three speed floor shift transmission. This car had been off the road for years, and I have not driven it other than in and out of the shop. It seems to have original miles at 58,000, but I can't be sure. The original factory rotors had never been turned, and the suspension seems tight. I have to say for the record that the true miles are unknown. The 14 in wheels are from an S10, and the tires are old and should be replaced before driving it anywhere. I stripped the truck to bare metal, patched the lower quarters with metal replacement panels, and painted it single stage enamel. The paint is presentable but not perfect. Call it driver quality. Interior needs a seat cover and headliner. Door cards are scratched and faded. All the glass seems to be good, and the trim between the glass and door skin has been replaced. Spend a little time and money on this, and you'll have a pretty decent shop truck or daily driver. The hard work's done, and your wife wont complain about the way it looks in the driveway, It can also be a great start on a powerful hot rod with a V8 addded. I have a running 350 w mild cam and low-rise aluminum intake available for an additional 750.00. The bellhousing and flywheel will bolt up. This car IS NOT ROAD READY, in my opinion, so bring a trailer. There is NO RESERVE. I have a clear Indiana title in my name. Bring CASH. No checks of any kind unless you want to wait to pick up the vehicle at least a month so I know the funds are good. No overseas sales, so don't even ask.
