Vehicle Detail
This car is being sold AS-IS! It has about 356,650 miles on it so we will call it 357,000 miles. It would be great parts donor car. This would not be a good daily driver as a beater. If you plan on driving this car anywhere but a one way trip to your back yard to disassemble and use for parts, all bets are off. YOU ARE BUYING A CAR FOR PARTS HERE. I just drove it to and from Racine WI from Saint Joseph, MI. Ran fine, and got 27mpg. But not with the wheels and tires on it right now. I switched them out because my wife's car has the same wheels, and it's good to have spares! The car runs good, trans shifts smooth, cruise work,, in fact, just about everything works. BUT IT HAS 357,000 miles on it and every body part is rusty. In the last ferw thousand miles, it shows an average fuel usage of 25mpg, and that is accurate. I know, I've been buying the gas for the last 260,000 miles or so. I I am the second owner, but could be wrong. But I did buy it with less that 100,000 miles on the clock in 2007. The front bumper is cracked for road debris. The front windshield has a spider crack starting at the bottom left of the windshield and runs right for about 1 foot or so, plus after 357,000 miles, the windshiled is pretty much sandblasted. The rest of the glass is great, and the rear windows are limo-tinted. And all the windows work, even the autoup and autodown functions. The instrument panel has a non-op fuel gage, but the multifunction's fuel level indicator is correct. The temperature gage has none of the pixels working. The clock is not illuminated, but I think some pixels are out on it. It comes with the stock radio with 6cd changer in the trunk and it all works fine. The heater works. The ac works, blows cold, but the compressor is making a little noise. The driver's seat has been sat in for 357,000 miles, but it has no tears. The rest of the seats are good, though the back seat bottom has a few flaws in the middle section. All the elctronics works, including cruise, rain sensing wipers, auto-seats, auto-mirrors, locks, lights, all of it is working. The really bad, besides the rust, is the evaporative fume system failed and the gas tank was subject to engine vacuum, copplasing the tank a bit and causing a crack in it. So don't put more then 10 or so gallons in it. The Blizzak snow tires are on Mercedes alloy rims, not stock to this car. There is one decent tire (LR) but the other three are shot and noisy. Drivable, but not long. The spare is the original Conti, it has been used after flats (you get a few in 357,000 miles), but the tire has tens of thousands of miles left on it, though mounted on the original temporary usa only black aluminum rim. It has operational XENON headlamps. The lenses need polishing, but heck, a set of clean xenon's on ebay go for 400 or so. The engine does not leak. The transmission does not leak. The engine does use some oil. Since I've had it, I've relied on the FSS for the oil change interval, and have always use Mobil1 5-30 Gold Cap. 357,000 miles on a gasser is pretty darn awesome. The engine is not making any unusual noises. Since I've had it, the engine has never been even partially disassembled, and the trans has not either. The exhuast is quiet. A few recent rapirs that I remember - alternator and idler pulley. That's it since last October or so. It has been a fantastically reliable car, but the rust took over, so I let some things go as listed above. I probably missed some things that are inoperable, and remember, the car is SOLD AS-IS and really used for parts. Like you have a W210 and your trans is shot and do not want to spend $4000 on a reman, this may be your ticket. Lots of good usable and expensive parts on this car.
