Vehicle Detail

1982 CORVETTECOLLECTOR EDITION 69000 ORIGINAL MILES 1982 CORVETTECOLLECTOR SERIES69000 MILES This special Corvette is the last of the Mako Shark styled cars which ran from 1968 to 1982. This car is very unique because it has a few special design cues only found on the Collector Edition and not on any other Corvette in 1982. The rear hatch glass is function and opens with the pull of a hatch handle which allows access from outside the car for rear compartment stowage. No other 1982 Corvettes offered this rear glass design and it set the stage for the 1984 and beyond rear access glass hatch. The second design cue is the one of a kind wheels which were only offered on this car. Very sharp wheel design that sets this car apart from the rest of the Corvette world. The third design cue was the one of a kind faded decal kit with pin stripes. From what I understand this is the first Corvette offered from the factory with this radical decal design and pin stripe. The other design cue is the Bronze tinted glass T-Tops that were for this car only. Pretty cool stuff. This car is in pretty good shape for its age and having only 69000 original miles. The carfax is clean with no accidents and there are mileage statements on the carfax showing service history backing up the car. The car is a two owner car and has been in Michigan for 11 years and not driven in the past 6 years. The car needed tune work, so it was taken to a local Chevrolet dealer to be checked out and tuned. $2800 later the car runs like it did new. The Chevrolet dealer did extensive Crossfire work along with intake, cap, rotor, wires, plugs, oil change, air intake work etc. I have the service bill which was $2800 after a 10% discount that was just completed on 5/27/2014. Bottom line is you turn the key without even touching the gas pedal and it starts right up and runs and idles perfect. No need to spend any money on tune work for this car. Body and Paint: From what I have gathered after looking over the car close I believe that this car retains 90 percent of its original paint. There appears to have been paint work to the front bumper and drivers rear quarter panel below the pin stripe. The balance of the car appears to retain its original GM paint. It is showing its age but it very presentable over all. I would recommend repainting the front bumper properly. The passenger door has some paint chipped off along the middle of the door line where it appears it sat in a garage where another vehicles doors touched it over the years. A good air brush touch up man should be able to do a nice blend job on that line. The inside of the drivers door still has its original GM compliance from new. Interior: The interior is all original and has a very nice dash and center console. The passenger seat is in good shape but the drivers seat is showing its age. I have researched replacement factory seat covers for this car and they start at $425 and go up to $750 depending who you buy them from. The door panels are in very good condition and should not need to be replaced. The bronze steering wheel is original and needs to be recovered with leather. I have seen companies offering this wheel for this Collector Edition car for only $209. The interior will not take much to look really nice again. Wheels, Tires, and Brakes: The wheels are original and in very nice condition. The brakes work awesome and stop the car quick. The tires are in great condition and do not need to be replaced. You shouldn’t have to spend and money on these items. Power Equipment: The windows operate properly and go up and down with ease. The steering wheel column tilt and telescopic feature work fine also. The power mirror work on both sides as well. The power lock button is not working currently. The AC does not blow cold but the heated and air flow works as it should. The radio works as well as the factory power antenna. The headlight work and go up and down with ease as well as the bright light function on the turn signal arm. I have tried to give as much info as possible to help you with your decision to bid or buy. I may have left something out so please feel free to call me at 248-760-0021 with your questions. I am selling the car “as is” because cars of this age are. I will require a $2,000 deposit with in 2 days of auction ending and the balance within 7 days of end of sale. Thank you for viewing my auction. Bob
