Lots to tell here !1971 Rare Half Hatch (Half trunk Half hatchback)They made just a few of these in the early years. This car was profiled at spring Carlisle event in 2011. It was raffled off for a charity . It was professionally restored for the 40th anniversary of the Ford Pinto celebration at the Carlisle event.I do not know the history other than they did a "mild" restoration. this car is near new in every way. It drives like the day it was new. This Pinto was one of the rare factory air cars in its day. All air parts look to be there but it is not hooked up.I have owned and drove pintos for over 35 years and am a member of the Pintostampede. (pintostampede.com)I drive Pintos across the country to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project. I first saw this in 2011 at the fairgrounds and even bought a ticket...But I did not win...The car changed hands and ended up in northern Pennsylvania where I bought her and brought her back to the Midwest. I own 5 Pintos and have recently found a Convertible pinto that will take this cars place in the collection.Engine & Transmission are Clean-No leaks-Starts and runs smooth shifts perfect.Paint is 95% with one very small blemish on fender that was to small to photograph.Doors & door panels are perfect-Windows roll up and down as they should- rear pop-out windows were a option.Seats are perfect with no rips or tares-Carpet is clean with no stains-Headliner has a small hole in front that has been patched-Head liner starting to "pull away" at the rear..(nothing major)Dash has no cracks-original radio plays through a aftermarket speaker. The original speaker died. All gauges work as well as they light bright at night. Heat works -air don't.Bumpers are clean and bright-The bumper guards were optional.44000 original milesMost of the chrome has been restored or is near perfect.Undercarriage is VERY clean-Even the rims were bead blasted and painted.All glass as new-No leaks or surprises ! This is a remarkable car and if it wasn't for me having so many cars I would keep it.I have a written appraisal for over 5000 that several years old. That is my RESONABLE reserve.This car runs and drives fine but remember its a 40+ year old car. Even I wouldn't drive it across America.I have drove it on trips as far as 100 miles from home with NO trouble whatsoever.Email for questions-Location 90 miles north of Chicago-THIS ONES A DANDY !
