1956 Thunderbird Vin # P6FH254261 This car is Colonial White with black and white interior, and I have owned this car since 1975. The car was built with many options, as specified on the included original build sheet, are: -soft top, in lieu of hardtop -spin-on oil filter -POS action wipers (vacuum assist) -Fordomatic transmission -power steering -4-way power seat -power windows -safety package A (padded sunvisors and padded dash) -engine dress-up kit -tinted glass -rear fender skirts -radio 9Tand antenna (9 tube town and country signal-seeking radio) -heater and defroster -windshield washer -turn indicators & backup lights -power brakes -P –code engine, 312 cu V8 4-bbl The car wears its original dog-dish hubcaps and continental kit. The car was sold new with the soft top only, and is being sold with an aftermarket hardtop. This car is bone-stock and no attempts at modernization have ever been made. The vehicle runs and drives but will require a full mechanical and cosmetic restoration. It is an ideal candidate for restoration that can be driven and enjoyed as that process occurs. The interior, under the seat cover, is original and requires replacement. The padded portion of the optional safety dash is in good condition. The power windows and seat work, but the lock tumbler on one side needs replacement. There is rust in the fenders, rocker panels, and bumpers, although the structural areas of the body and the frame do not evidence rust. As can be seen in the photos, the trunk floor and the floor pans are solid save for one golf ball-sized hole in the passenger footwell.
