Vehicle Detail

Barn Find! Here’s a nice 1958 Chevy Biscayne. Has a clear Montana title. Don’t see these too often and with the price of 58 coupes and convertibles bringing $100K, this is the next best thing. This one is offered as a project car in need and deserving of restoration. I have a 63 Impala SS and a 65 GTO in line already, so just no time to get to this one. This is a nice Eastern Washington car (High & Dry Desert) with minimal rust. Car is complete! Has 91,518 miles showing. If you’ve restored cars you know how valuable this is since you won’t be nickel and dimed to death having to buy a hundred hard to find little parts. The 1958's are just a touch longer and not quite as tall as a shoebox Chevy. See the pics next to my 55 BelAir. A great candidate for a hot rod and this is a one-year only body style which will continue to increase in value as an investment. Body is mostly straight…it has some bumps but this is real sheet metal that can be hammered and dollied without disfiguring. It can also be welded. Have all the stainless which is bright and shiny. It needs a new trim clip here and there and a bump or two taken out of the trim, but again, this is real stainless, not thin modern aluminum junk. This is easy metal to work! (Check out Eastwood’s catalog for their trim anvil and hammer set…a great investment I made a number of years ago….has saved me thousands in replacement trim). There is a minor dent in the right rear quarter that’ll pop out easily. No bondo that I can see. Trunk is solid and even has the original bumper jack! Also has the original spare tire 14 inch rim, and all 4 hubcaps are included. Tires are good and all hold air. The rear floors are thin and need replacing and there’s a puncture in the passenger front floor about 2 inches wide that just needs a patch. The front floors are solid. The weatherstrip channel on the lower trunk needs some rust repair, but can be easily done…even if you aren’t much of a welder this is a minor fix. Has a couple rust spots bubbling in the hood, but again, an easy fix with a couple small pieces of sheet metal. The glass is all good including the backlight and the windshield. Has a crack in the right ¼ window, but these are available new for about $80. Bumpers are ready for re-chroming and the grille looks perfect to me! Frame is solid and straight, with nothing but a little surface rust on it. Never been wrecked! Gas tank is missing. No brakes, but parking brake seems to work ok. Car is unmolested. 3 speed on the tree with all clutch linkage etc. that’ll get your new 5 speed or old Muncie shifting right. The owner before me told me that this probably runs with a gas tank and new battery, but I haven’t tried it since I was planning on running a 409 or a small block. Dash is uncut and original! Seats are there too! Glove compartment even has the original liner in great shape. Wiring is solid and hasn’t been hacked. Car is a great platform for a low-rider, a resto mod, or an original restoration. Would even make a cool rat rod. Very low reserve for a classic Chevy. I can help your hauler load the car. I can store the car for a bit if needed (but will need full payment). Please ask questions. I also have more pics if needed and may have some parts in the barn I can throw in. Thanks! On Jun-15-14 at 07:37:50 PDT, seller added the following information: JUST TO BE PERFECTLY CLEAR. eBay does not list the Biscayne as a model for 1958 so I chose Impala...it is not, as is clearly stated in multiple places, this is a Biscayne. Thanks so much!!
