1982 DeLorean DMC 12 vin# SCEDT26T3CD010496 This DeLorean was originally sold by DeLorean Cadillac 1600 W. 117th St, Lake Wood, Ohio 44107 and delivered 1/26/84 This particular Delorean was painted by the dealership “Delorean Brothers.” It is painted stainless gray with blue blended stripes on the sides and the DMC emblem is airbrushed on the rear bumper, all covered by a clear coat. I have had the paint inspected and was told that it would have cost 8-10k in 1982 dollars to paint it this way. Approximately 9,200 DeLoreans were built before production ended in 1982. There are estimated to be less than 6,500 still in existence worldwide. With very few being in the pristine condition that this one is in. It is an understatement to say that this is a rare car. This DeLorean has only 3,758 original miles. It had been sitting in my neighbor’s barn for 30 years without my knowledge until the owner passed away. We discovered while helping her family sort through the barn. I am told she purchased it as an investment but then couldn’t part with it. I have all the documentation from the day it was purchased. The paint is like new. As previously stated it sat for 30 years in a barn, so the list of repairs from nonuse is extensive: Complete fuel system. NO short cuts, including fuel distributor $500. Brakes, complete lines, rotors & calipers. Interior was perfect, except the headliner from gravity which was replaced. Electric window motor replaced $600. All struts for doors, hood, engine compartment replaced. Complete air conditioning replaced $3,000. All ignition components replaced. New tires, the previous set dry rotted, but I still have them. Complete detailing $425. New alternator. New wiper blades. etc, etc. all prices are without labor. Some of the cars were painted by dealers, as this one was, to enhance sales due to the difficult process of removing finger print & stains from the brushed stainless steel. The car is in excellent driving condition. Although we do not drive it often, usually to the occasional car show. It is in excellent working order & can be used as a daily driver as long as you don't mind people taking your picture at stop lights, asking you if they can take their picture with the car. People just love to touch & be seen in this car. . .
