Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a very reliable 1974 MG Midget. This is the last of the rare and coveted round wheel arch models. This car has been used as a daily driver for the last five years. This car has the Rivergate 5 speed conversion kit using a Datsun 210 transmission. Receipts included for the $500 conversion kit. The Datsun 210 transmission and kit costs over $2,000! The transmission that came with these cars was primitive and unreliable. This transmission makes this car a much more pleasant drive. Would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere. In the last 15,000 miles the following has been done to keep this Midget as a daily driver: -Motor has been rebuilt with .020 new pistons -Valve job -Carburetors were rebuilt-New distributor-New clutch-Front brake hydraulics were gone through-Replaced front end bushings-New exhaust system The car has current registration and Texas state inspection. All lights are operable, including the dash lights as well as the windshield wipers and the horn. Includes a rare hardtop, tonneau cover, convertible top boot, NO convertible top but solid frame in place for replacement. Odometer has rolled over and shows 04822. The negatives of the car:-Rear shocks worn - will need to be replaced-Surface rust - see pictures. No body rot (Solid TX car)-Interior has some rough areas but is all there. Seats are not in bad shape, just a couple of tears. Runs great, this car starts right up every time. The 5 speed transmission really transforms the drivability of this car. Cosmetically this car needs work. The body is solid and there is no rot. Have too many projects and never got around to cosmetically restoring this car.
