1970 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Thanks for taking a look at our very cool Monte Carlo. This car has been the recipient of quite a lot of modification and she shows magnificently, runs great and the sounds are bad ass both from the tail pipes and the rocking audio. Take a look at our you tube video tours here http://youtu.be/EK7vRNXYOo4http://youtu.be/ihxZxx9CO_s What a wild custom Monte! Slammed into the weeds or pumped up donk style, this Monte Carlo is a sure winner. Fill us in! We are pretty short on history but the finished product is amazing. Always looking for pre 1975 Muscle cars, Volvo P1800, Metropolitan, Alfa Romeo, Porsche 911, 914 240Z 260Z 280Z, older Cadillac, Camaro, Mustang, Vintage race cars, older Jaguars, British sports cars, kit cars, project cars, 1948-1986 interesting cars.On May-31-14 at 13:55:30 PDT, seller added the following information: Thanks for your quick and responsive reply. I have a couple more questions. 1. Was this car "rotisserie" or frame off rebuilt, or frame-on? I don’t know but with this level of customization, a rotisserie would have made sense. Typically though, that term applies to day 1 style or "born as" restorations, which this is not. 2. What is the situation on CA sales tax? I live in Alaska and we have no sales tax. I certainly don't want to pay CA sales or road-use tax for the privilege of taking the car out of CA. I bought a car at auction in Monterey and avoided CA tax by taking possession in OR. What do you know about how to avoid these taxes? It is exactly what you have already experienced. Sales tax is ultimately due in the registration State in which you reside, if applicable. We like Uship.com for transporters. A couple more questions: What is the brake system, drums or disks, standard or oversized? What trans, and what rear end? This Monte Carlo was fitted with a late model 10 bolt rear end with factory disc brakes making this a 4 wheel disc car. The rear end is the standard bulletproof GM 10 bolt found on tens of thousands of late model full size GM cars and looks to be a 2001 model year production. It can handle a ton of horsepower, offers disc brakes and is the perfect match for the 350 trans and the 383 stroker. I noticed that there are no front inner fender wells.; Are the rear deleted as well?. Is this a new stroker engine, what is the horsepower ? No, there are no inner fender wells. This is typical of lowered cars. There are however, full show panels for the engine bay that I neglected to photograph. I’ll see if we can get those out of storage, installed and get a picture for you. They go with the car. The rear wheel wells are intact. I don’t know how new the engine is. I suspect it was new or rebuilt at the zero point on the odometer. If that’s case, the drivetrain has 2000 miles on it, like the rest of the car. It drives, starts, runs and feels like a fresh build but I don’t have receipts to show you. We are getting some great questions. Thanks! and keep them coming! Good luck bidders!
