Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a gorgeous, original 1970 Honda CB750 with 22K original miles!! This is a one owner bike! It has the original blue and yellow California license plate, and the original factory tool kit! I'm selling this for a friend who bought it from Honda of Hollywood dealership in 1980 with only 800 miles on the clock! The teal blue paint is original on the gas tank, side covers, air box, headlight bucket, and headlight fork mounts! The bike has the original factory seat in excellent condition. Beautiful original HM300 exhaust with NO HOLES, and NO DENTS!!..all 4 baffles are there too. This beauty is in very good condition for a 44 year old motorcycle! Being in un-restored condition the bike has a nice "patina" The clear coat on the aluminum is fading here and there, and the gas tank stickers are showing a bit of age but not peeling off...zoom in. There is a small, approx 1" dent in the left side of the gas tank that happened when moving the bike in the garage. There is also some wear at the rear from the seat that you can see in the pics as well. Otherwise an amazing gas tank. Inside is PERFECT. The dealership replaced the thumb gas cap latch with a "key-style" lock back in 1980. Unfortunately, dealerships were required to do this. OEM Thumb latches go for around $50.00 on Ebay. The sticker on top of the oil side cover was removed by the owner and a new one would need to be put on to be back to original. The 750 side cover badges are in excellent condition and the screens are in place. The plastic chainguard has a crack in it behind the left rear shock but is fully functional. The chrome on this bike is very nice!.... some areas are showing some age but I believe they can easily be cleaned back to perfection. The bike has the black kill switch on the right hand side. The speedo and tach gauges are fully functional and all jewels are in place and light up. The tachometer plastic face has some scratching on it that you can see in the pics. The airbox is complete but is cracked in a few areas. It is all there but fairly fragile. The alternator cover has some scratching on it and the bottom has a slight indentation...(from the garage "tip-over")... but is fully functional. Everything works on the bike as it should! This gem is a runner, however, it has been sitting for some time and the choke needs to be on to start the bike and keep it running. The slides are free and she revs up nicely. DOES NOT SMOKE OR HAVE ANY CAM RATTLE. It will need a carb cleaning to be a perfectly ride-able bike again. At approx. 20,000 miles the following was done to the bike: New metzler tires, new battery, new electronic ignition, new grips (not stock), new front brake pads, new rear brake shoes, new OEM throttle, clutch, speedo, and tach cables, and new reproduction "acorn" mirrors. The bike also has new NGK spark plugs, fresh Catrol 4T 20W50 oil, and new oil filter and seals. Timing, valves, and cam chain set to factory specs. I have set a very fair reserve price for this time capsule. I've done my best to show any imperfections on this bike. I want you to know exactly what you are buying. Again, this is an original 44 year old motorcycle! PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING. The motorcycle in located in Venice, CA. I can help with international and domestic shipping, but SHIPPING IS THE BUYERS RESPONSIBILITY. I have pictures of anything you want to see and can send them if needed. Very nice rare find. I reserve the right to end the auction early since the bike is being sold locally. Thanks for looking, and good luck. Shannon 310-606-0434
