Vehicle Detail
Time to sell this old school bus. This classic Chevy is built like a tank. Originally may have been used in the airforce or Navy? Looks like it may have been blue before it was yellow. Sometime in the 1960s it was converted into a house car or RV. It even has a variety of the old window travel decals on the rear side windows. My dad thinks it was a old surfing rig? You decide..? Engine: Looks like a old straight six 235. Not running and no history on its condition. Body: Actually looks pretty solid overall. A few dents, only rust through is near drivers side rear of front fender, a small spot near the stairs, the underside looks pretty darn good, mostly surface rust...didn't really see any cancer. Glass: A few windows are cracked, rear drivers side is missing. Both windshield pieces are good. Tires: Needs tires, they will hold air in the rear for a week maybe more, the fronts seem to hold air for quite a bit longer. Brakes: We pumped up the tires and moved it around a bit. Emegency brake worked. However, the brake pedal doesn't work. One cool thing I found out about this bus is that they used this same make and model school bus in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest when Jack Nicholson steals a bus in the movie. The coach builder that built the bus is Wayne. The chassis was delivered new to Wayne to convert it into a School bus. It's a 1950 Chevy 2 ton 640. Sometimes referred to as a Stovebolt Chevy. Wonderful old classic school bus, would make a great classic RV or house car....or if you have a big family
