This is a body off restored 1974 Corvette T-Top Coupe with 79840 original miles. This vehicle has been modified for better performance, and better gas mileage. It gets 21 mpg on the highway and has participated in 6 Hot Rod Power Tours (including three Long Hauls!). This car is a driver: starts instantly, put it into gear and go. Every detail of this vehicle has been dealt with. This is one of 6 C2 and C3 Corvettes restored in this shop. Smoke-free Environment. Always garaged, used only in good weather; no snow/salt. Originally an L82 4 speed car. Detailed list: Body: Removed from frame, all steel structure in rocker area replaced, all steel fiberglas body reinforcements replaced. New body mounts; New front/rear bumpers; All new brake and gas lines; new gas tank; new stainless steel luggage rack; new carpet, back hatch door panels, door panels, T-Top panels; all new weather stripping; new front radiator seals; new two piece fan shroud; custom modified stock automatic shifter w/Eckler's 4 speed auto mod kit, new front and rear console covers. New right/left hand rear view mirrors. Includes both T-Top storage bags. All electrics work: windows, wipers, heater, pop up headlights. Paint prep and paint done by professional body shop: PPG paint system, 3 coats primer, with sanding between coats, 2 base color coats, 2 poly coats, 2 clear coats. The A/C is complete and pressure tested but was never finally charged (I never needed it in Wisconsin). New receiver drier. New heater core. Chassis: Stripped to bare metal, painted with special black frame paint; new fiberglas transverse rear spring with aftermarket adjustable lower struts; HD rear half shafts with HD drive yolk caps; 3.31 :1 final drive ratio with Posi-Traction; new differential mounts; new rubber trailing arm bushings; HD shock absorbers to counter more flexible FiberGlas rear spring; complete spare tire carrier with spare; new front sway bar bushings, new power steering control valve and hoses, new HD front shocks; 4 wheel alignment; new "O" ring disk brake calipers (4) with DOT 5 (silicone) brake fluid; new master cylinder; new brake hoses and steel lines; Stainless steel parking brake internals w/ new cables, new upper and lower ball joints; 1978 Aluminum wheels with BF Goodrich T/A Radial P235-60R15 tires with .275" tread depth. Engine: Based on a 1970 400 cu in four bolt block, bored .030" to 4.155"; Keith Black hypereutectic 9.5 to 1 pistons; Double Moly Rings, stock 3.75" stroke crankshaft was turned to R.010/M.010" U/S, assembled with Federal Mogul bearings, new Scat 4340 5.7" H-Beam rods with 7/16" ARP cap screw rod bolts, full floating pins. The entire rotating assembly, including harmonic balancer and flexplate, was precision electronically balanced to 1 gram. New World Products Sportsman II angle plug heads with new 2.02/1.60 stainless valves, 1.440" Dual valve springs, Chrome Moly steel retainers, VTO valve seals, 1.6 to 1 roller rocker arms, guide plates w/7/16" screw in rocker studs. Schneider Hydraulic Roller Cam: 208 @ .050 Intake .454 lift, 214 @ .050 Exhaust .496 lift, ground on 112 degree lobe center (Torque Monster), Howards retrofit hydraulic roller lifters, Comp Cams special hyd roller pushrods. Cloyes double roller timing set, roller cam thrust bearing with lock plate, Melling High Volume oil pump with steel pump drive shaft, 7 quart kick out oil pan, with pickup fastened to pump. Stock L82 aluminum Rocker covers, all original ignition shielding. Small diameter HEI distributor, with special roller cam driven gear. Holley ProJection port fuel injection: 30 pph injectors, 1000 cfm four barrel throttle body, all engine control (fuel/timing) programmable (software included). Has O2 sensor for on the fly fuel trim. Currently has about 18K miles since built. New 454 w/air radiator (27" wide 3 core), new aluminum water pump, new clutch fan, all new hoses, ported stock L82 rams horn exhaust manifolds with dual 2.5" exhaust back to special turbo mufflers. Mini late model geared starter. Transmission: Started with a 1986 700R4 transmission, modified to accept the increased torque of the engine. Has input shaft to input drum reinforcement kit including modified over running piston, 5 HD BW forward clutches, 9 Alto red 3/4 clutches, Kevlar 2/4 band with Corvette 2nd apply servo, HD dog type forward sprag, special sun gear shell with Torrington thrust washer/special rear sprag inner race, HD rear sprag, front and rear 5 planet carriers, Transgo SK700 shift kit, .500" reverse boost valve, all new seals, gaskets, thrust washers, and bushings. 10 vane front pump w/steel vane rings. New 1992 Corvette torque converter w/lockup; vacuum switch controls lockup in 4th gear. Other Details: Battery 2 years old, all electrical systems work properly (Lights/wipers/windows/turn/emergency/pop up headlights). Includes all original restoration paperwork in binder, plus original owners manual and factory service manual. Interestingly, this Corvette is one of 59 Corvettes manufactured that had a VIN number (1Z37T4S401974) that matched the year of manufacture.
