Vehicle Detail
Offer for sale from my exclusive, private collection is my 1948 5T SpeedTwin. This bike is an unmolested, original survivor motorcycle which has been verified to be totally original (except for the mufflers) by a New Jersey Triumph shop of recognized experts in vintage Triumphs, right down to the tire pump, shop manual and complete, original "Triumph" embossed tool kit (all shown in pictures). This is a very cool old original Triumph complete with all original parts. The paint is very old and looks amazing and has the original patina. This bike has not been touched (other than regular oil changes, etc) for 40 plus years. The bike runs great and only needs tires; they have been on this bike for 40 years. For those of you who know vintage Triumphs, you know that the early 40's models do not have matching numbers on the frame and motor so please do your homework before asking that question. Finding a '40s Triumph this original and complete............plus the fact that it starts on 1-2 kicks and is an excellent runner, is not an easy thing to do. I know.......... I have been looking for a long time and already regretting listing it. The '48 Triumph is very rare in that it was the 1st full product year of manufacturing from the new Meridien plant after the original Coventry, England plant, which was dedicated to wartime production, was destroyed by the Germans during the war. Other rare features of the '48 include the redesigned telescopic front forks, a sepearte magneto & dynamo and the newly introduced (optional) rear sprung hub. I will sell to Japan, the UK & other countries worldwide. The bike is for sale locally and I will end the auction at any time for a local sale or the right price. If you are interested, please make an offer; I am not giving out the reserve. This is a very original, complete, running, working and clear Pennsylvania titled 1948 5T. You may reach me on my cell at 484-433-1615.
