Vehicle Detail
1965 Malibu SS convertible Canadian built with GM of Canada documentation & original POP warranty book. I imported this car from Quebec in Sept 2000.Bought from 2nd owner who had the car restored in 1997.Car has aprox 10K miles since restored 17 years ago.Car is a fantastic driver & I believe has its original floor, truck, body panels. This is a nice 2-3 condition driver quality car! If you are looking for a perfect nut & bolt car this is not it.As per GM of Canada paperwork car was born with L code Tahitian Turquoise metallic paint,C06black power top, black interior,283 2bbl,powerglide 2 speed auto,C14 wiper system windshield electric,N40 hydraulic steeringP58 7.35-14-4 white wall tires,U63 am radio Upgrades to the car to make it a great driver are- original #s283 rebuilt with 327-300 HP cam, harden valve seats for unleaded gas,4bbl GM intake with 650 Quadrajet carb,HEI ignition, headers, dual exhaust,3.31 posi rearend turbo 400 trans with nice shift kit. Other upgrades are L79 air cleaner, very rare 65 floor shift tilt steering column that was totally rebuilt, simulated wood steering wheel,65 tachometer.car has Uniroyal redline radial tires on 15x8 corvette rallye wheels, front & rear HD sway bars. Paint color change was done right & you would think car was factory black.I know most people will say a change of paint color from original devalues a car but this cars fit & finish is nice & nothing compares to a straight black body!Underside of car is original & not dummied over with paint or undercoating, Come look at this car- it will sell itself !! Remember this car is almost 50 years old & was restored 17 years ago & has been driven approx. 10k miles since. Before bidding come check the car out from front to back, top to bottom so you know exactly what you are buying. Or have the car professionally inspected by a competent classic car appraiser.Reserve is $19500 & I think to will go higher,Please calls only for questions I don't like typing emails Mark 248 457 0291On Apr-08-14 at 03:33:52 PDT, seller added the following information: I wanted to add a little info on a few differences that this car has compared to American built 65s: Canadian cars had firewall & trunk painted body color. This car has no seat belts. They weren't mandatory in Canada until 1966. I believe they were mandatory in US in 1964.The engine pad is stamped with a number from assembly plant. This number is shown on the pop book & GM document. It is not the vin # like US cars. I have a pic of engine pad but cant download any more pics, No it is not restamped or fake- has original broach marks, I don't think that the US built 283 cars even had the engine pad stamped- just the HP 327s & 396 Z16 cars. The car has a Turbo 400 3 speed auto with shift kit. The very nice original console & shifter with shiftworks shifter conversion were used so the car looks stock. The car has big block coil springs with HD shocks that gives the car a nice stance. This car can be driven cross country if needed- fly in & drive it home. Car is one of 369 built in Canada
