The La Grange, Illinois (Cook County) Police Department is offering the following vehicle for sale by auction: Red 1996 Toyota T100 DLX Extended Cab Pickup 2-Door 3.4L with a mileage of 198,364 miles (see notes below). This is a seized/forfeited vehicle and MUST be sold according to Illinois law: it MUST be sold in an auction-type setting such as eBay. There is no Buy-It-Now option. We will NOT accept any trades for this vehicle. The vehicle is being sold AS IS and with NO existing warranty, neither express nor implied. The vehicle will be sold to the highest bidder once the starting price has been satisfied. There is NO reserve on this vehicle! The vehicle is 6 cylinder, 5 speed manual transmission and 4 Wheel Drive (4 X 4). The vehicle has a gray cloth interior in fair to good condition. The vehicle is a two-door with an extended cab. The vehicle has a standard 6 1/2 foot unenclosed bed in fair to good condition. The vehicle is equipped with a tow hitch/tow package. The vehicle has aluminum rims. The vehicle has an AM/FM stereo with CD player (unknown if working-we did not try it). All signals, lights, lamps, interior clock, power door locks, power windows, power mirrors, horn, and fan motor are in working order. The vehicle has A/C, however, we do not know if it is cold; we did not try it. The fan motor is working, however. NOTE: The odometer reads 198,364 miles, HOWEVER, there is a sticker under the hood that reads that the timing belt was replaced on 05/01/09 at 324,579 miles. WE DO NOT KNOW WHAT MILEAGE IS CORRECT: THE ODOMETER OR THE STICKER. The driver's-side front tire has a slow leak (not holding air). The driver's-side taillight lens is broken, however, the light itself works. The vehicle's battery is being held down by bungee cords. The front antenna is missing with a hanging wire. There are small scratches, scrapes, dents, minor imperfections about the entire vehicle. It appears that the vehicle was used as a work truck in the trades. The front bumper has small crash damage (bumper pushed in slightly) and is starting to rust. The vehicle's tires will eventually need to be replaced. The vehicle has been stored inside for the past year during the court case, so it will need a new battery, a tune-up, and new fluids. I apologize for the limited pictures: the vehicle is still in storage and will be brought to our department within the next couple of days.
