Vehicle Detail

I am offering my personal numbers matching 70 Plymouth Duster 340. This car was found in a barn with 33,000 miles in 1998 where it had sat since 1978 as I am told by the previous owner. The car was restored in 2001 where a new trunk pan was installed. The car is very solid. Although the car was repainted it still sports the original vinyl top with is in excellent condition. How many old Mopars have the original vinyl tops? Even though the car was painted in 2001 it still looks great with no scratches or dents in the body. All the chrome is in excellent condition with no pitting or rust. The interior is in excellent condition with an aftermarket tach mounted where the factory tach would be if it were ordered with it. The black vinyl bench seats are reproduction from Legendary Interiors. This is an original "J81" optioned car which is the Go-Wing option. The hood scoops are not original to the car but are factory Mopar scoops. The grill is in perfect condition also. The pictures speak for themselves. This is a numbers matching car with build sheet and fender tag. The motor and transmission are the same ones that this car left the factory with. All body numbers match including the radiator support, dash and drivers door tag. The car does have after market Hooker ceramic coated headers and a Holley 650 4bb carburetor. I have an original Carter carburetor that will go with the car. It has been stored in my heated garage since I purchased it in 2005 as the previous owner also did. On Mar-29-14 at 09:24:43 PDT, seller added the following information: I have left out some very important information and been asked some very good questions by those interested in the car so please see the response to those questions below. Feel free to let me know if there is any other critical information I may have overlooked. Thank you On Mar-30-14 at 10:47:39 PDT, seller added the following information: I am pasting the questions and answers here because the question and answer section is not showing up on some mobile devices. Question & Answer Answered On Q: is this car undercoated, thks steve Mar-29-14 A: Yes, the car is undercoated from the factory. The buildsheet/broadcast sheet shows this as "J55". Q: DJM, Very nice "A" body resto. Question regarding differential. 3:23 sure-grip? Do you possess the original exhaust manifolds?...John Mar-29-14 A: I knew I was forgetting a few things. Thanks for bringing the questions up. The car has the same 3:23 sure-grip that it had from the factory. I do not have the original exhaust manifolds. I have considered finding and installing them but the car runs out so nice with the headers. Sounds great also. Another thing I forgot to mention is the electronic ignition that has been installed on the car for reliability. Q: Hi, couple of questions: What's been done to the engine? Front-end rebuilt? Type of brakes? tire size? Any shakes or vibrations or overheating? Any "before or as found" pix? Broadcast sheet? What accessories work/don't work? What does the car need?....thanks Mar-29-14 A: Good questions. I had the engine balanced in 2007 because I noticed a slight vibration when above 3,500 RPM. When the car was restored by the previous owner it was bored .030" over. The transmission was gone through also when I pulled the engine. A new clutch and pressure plate were also installed at this time. Front end was rebuilt during initial restoration and is tight with no vibrations or shakes. Drives down the road very well on the P205/70R14 tires. Has the factory issued front disc brakes and rear drums. The car has never overheated for me and runs at a very constant temperature. I do have a broadcast sheet for the car. Everything works on the car, even the radio although it doesn't pick up a lot of stations anymore. Maybe because there aren't too many around? The car does not not need anything since I am very anal about everything working as it should. The black vinyl stripe near the trunk key hole has pulled away and split due to the contour of the key hole.On Mar-30-14 at 18:02:31 PDT, seller added the following information: I reserve the right to cancel bids placed by any bidder based on their negative feedback. I have seen too many bidders with negative feedback ruin the bidding for real potential buyers. On Apr-06-14 at 20:22:58 PDT, seller added the following information: I do have an extra hood that is in very good condition with no hood scoops or holes that I will let go with the car also. It will need to painted to match the car. This is a very clean car. I have a document from the previous owner from a car appraiser stating "this was the cleanest car he had ever appraised".
