1975 SUZUKI TS 400 (with TS 400 parts bike) This bike is a very low mileage machine reflecting 1604 miles on the speedo. Various parts of the bike such as the foot pegs, grips, chain and sprockets seem to substantiate that mileage. I purchased this TS400 and the TS400 parts bike sometime ago from a man who said he bought them about 10 years ago and that they were not running at that time due to an electrical problem. His plan to restore them and get them running again did not happen. I decided to “freshen up” the better looking one of the two bikes. The carburetor was cleaned, the coil was replaced and the bike started right up. However, it smoked excessively and a leak down test determined the crank seals were at fault. Prior to me purchasing these bikes every nut and bolt of the motor was factory installed, they had never been apart. The crank bearings and seals were replaced which eliminated the excessive smoke. The cylinder looked good with no scratches or burns. The piston and rings are still on the standard size. The bike starts easily, idles, runs well and shifts smooth. Everything (except the neutral light indicator in the tach does not work, bulb?) on this bike works to include the headlight, horn and turn signals. It has new tires, new battery, and many new nuts and bolts but still retains all of the Suzuki “S” bolts. The seat does have a 2 inch tear on the top right side that is covered by electrical tape and it also has a small 1 inch slit on the bottom right side. The chrome housing of the rear turn signals and stems are very pitted. (see photo) The triple clamps, kick stand, battery box, air filter box, brake pedal, passenger pegs, headlamp bucket and ring were all powder coated.The gas tank, front fender, rear fender, side covers and chain guard were professionally painted with enamel and then clear coated.The axles, chain adjusters, brake arms and other bolts and fasteners were zinc plated. This bike is NOT museum quality but it would not take a lot to get it that way. This bike has a clean Florida title. 1975 TS400 PARTS BIKEThe parts bike does not run and has 3245 miles with very good tires. The motor has great compression turns over freely has never been taken apart. The bike is in rough shape and would be best suited as a parts bike.
