Vehicle Detail

You are looking at a 57 Chevy Bel-Air 4 Door. The car is in nice original condition. From the information given by the previous owner, the car was bought in Florida, went to Indiana then to New York. The car spent most of it's time in a garage. The previous owner had the 2 speed powerglide rebuilt and also replaced the gas tank and sending unit. I bought the car with the intention to restore it completely. Out of all of the tri five Chevys that I have owned, this is by far the greatest eye catcher of them all. The quarters look solid, and the doors also close solid. I recently had the front end of the car painted. Replaced the eyebrow chrome on both sides, the gold grill, the fender end and the cone on the left side, and left spear chrome on the door. The only trace of body filler that I can see is a little patch on the right fender by the wheel well. The car seems to have the original glass, only the drivers door has a light crack in it. The windshield is in good shape but has the usual dings and light scratches that any antique vehicle would have. Like I stated earlier I had intended to keep and restore this car, so many parts have been replaced. The car has a new die hard battery, a new re-built 2 barrel Rochester carb. ordered special from a well known rebuilding company. ( The cost of this was 350$ alone.) It also has new rear springs and shackles, all new wheel cylinders, new brake hoses, new spare tire, new bezels in the tranny linkage, new tail lenses, new wiring for headlights, new directional lenses, tune up ( points, plugs, condenser, cap rotor plug wires), rebuilt master cylinder, new upper and lower ball joints, ( I don't like the way the grease fittings accept the grease into the new joints...so I bought a new set of MOOG ball joints that will be included with the car.) It also has new inner and outer tie rods, a new idler arm, a new center link, brand new rocker panel chrome, upper and lower control arm bushings, new front shocks, new transmission mounts. The dash board is in nice shape, car does have the original steering wheel. The car also has the original turquoise/black interior, the head liner is in good shape as well as the carpet. The front seat cover will have to be replaced since it is the original. The drivers side of the cover is torn. The door panels look to also be the originals. The tires are in decent shape, they are repros of the originals. I placed four original spinner 57 Chevy hubcaps on the wheels and they look great. The motor is a 283 which runs well. (The previous owner claimed it to be a 58 283.) It sometimes smokes at start-up but then clears and runs smooth, the previous owner replaced all the gaskets for the motor. The car has good power for a 283 and drives great on the highway and feels totally roadworthy. The dual exhaust system with glass packs gives the motor that old fashioned rumble. All of the lights works as well as the gas gauge, the car has also been converted to an alternator. There are a few issues that do have to be repaired. The tranny linkage has to be adjusted slightly so it can be shifted into park correctly. The tranny itself shifts really well, it does not slip at all....tranny fluid is clean. Also the horn and the neutral safety switch do have to be repaired. I have a rebuilt original steering column that is included with the car, so those two issues can be repaired right away. I also have a spare NOS original distributer that I was going to put into the motor, which also comes with the car. Despite these issue this is a beautiful car in nice original condition. The car has never been altered in any way. My family and I take the car out every weekend during the spring and summer to local cruises. It never fails to turn heads. Like I said earlier, it is the most eye catching car I have ever owned. We are stopped constantly by admirers who wish to have their picture taken with it. I really don't want to part with this 57, but I have lost my storage space and I am unable to keep it in my possession. From the amount of parts that were placed into this car, you can see I did not want to sell it, but I have no choice. It's a very beautiful car, you will not be disappointed!!!!!! See videos of the '57 below. Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.. I will do my very best to address any and all of your concerns. This car is to be sold on a "AS IS" basis.
