Vehicle Detail
1968 rare with the original motor and transmission. this is 1 of 21 known to exist. there were only 3 hundred and some of these made. I have owned the car since 1978 and had every intention of restoring it. I sent it out for restoration and got hooked up with a bad restoration shop which took my money and did not do the work. now age, health, and finances will not allow me to finish or redo this car, I have offered it for sale because I would like to see someone do it who is able. Body- floor pans are original and solid they have been taken down to bare metal and rust proofed.Trunk floor needs replaced and I have a new one that goes with the car.Fenders are perfect rust free originals that I have been holding for 30 yearsOuter wheel houses have been replaced and inner wheel houses are good. Trunk floor extensions need replaced but they reproduce these now.I have a new set of quarter panels that go with car the old ones have already been cut out.Rocker panels need replaced but I have a rust free set of full rockers that go with car. Trunk lid is rust free as well as the hood and grill. The inner fenders were replaced with rust free ones in the 1980s but in doing so the fender tag was lost. I will try to explain all options the car had below. Drivetrain- complete original engine and transmission goes with car dated 6-67 this is one of the early ones and original to this car.The car has an 8/34 rear end with a 323 sure grip installed all brakes and wheel bearing are new. Suspension- the front suspension has been re built with new ball joints and inner and outer tie rod ends detailed and ready to be put back in car. This was an original front disc brake car and all of that goes with the car. Interior- front and rear seats have been recovered in the original white premium seat covers from legendary. The dash pads are near perfect and were taken from a 19 thousand mile original car many years ago. The door panels were lost when I recovered the car from the restoration shop as well as the carpet and headliner which it will need.. Options- the car was originally a light green metallic with a dark green vinyl top with white side stripes. The car had 150mph speedometer and simulated wood steering wheel which was standard on the Formula S. Cars. The car had an am radio with the optional light package which gave you a trunk light and glove box light. The car came with the front disc brake package which comes with car. Chrome is al there as well as the windows there may be a piece or so missing as I have not sorted it all out. There are boxes of parts that go with the car too many to take photos of all of them and they go with the car some are brand new in box. Most everything to put the car back together is there and original. Parts alone are worth thousands more than reserve. I would like to see the car fixed it is super rare but this is not a easy job and will require someone with skills I do not possess . CLEAR TITLE IN MY NAME On 12-Mar-14 at 14:54:22 EDT, seller added the following information: The vin number is Bh23P8B175685 I was asked about motor and transmission and they are the numbers matching ones for this car.I will post a few more pictures as I can. The transmission has never been touched and was working fine the last time I drove the car. The motor has had the short block rebuilt about 10 years ago at which time new factory correct pistons were installed as well as bearings rings gaskets and camshaft. The motor has set so long now that I would advise taking it apart and checking it out before trying to start it. This is the original engine and you don't want to do anything to hurt it.I have already installed a new clutch and pressure plate. The motor has not been started since it had the short block rebuilt.I do have the original factory high rise intake that goes with it. I do not have original exhaust manifolds as they were discarded in the 70s in favor of headers. The ignorance of my youth I suppose. There are lots of new items for the car such as gas tank brake parts and chrome trim including door handles and all formula s badging and all of this will go with car. I also have original 4 speed radiator. I could sell parts by themselves and separate it all and make a lot more money than selling it all together but I would like to see car fixed. On 14-Mar-14 at 11:33:13 EDT, seller added the following information: I have added some additional photos of some of the parts I have for this car. This is not all of them just took photos of these to let you see that there is quite a bit of stuff that will go with the car. You would for sure need a truck along with trailer to get all of the parts.
