Vehicle Detail

Selling my baby - I have plenty of things that aren't included in the total cost of what it took to build this truck, just hoping someone can see the value in what is being offered. What you are looking at would either be a GREAT project for someone with all of the expensive parts done. Or do what I did - enjoy driving a truck that may not look too fancy at first glance, but makes everyone stop when the hood is open or when the engine fires up. This is not your typical F150 Ford Truck, I have pictures and receipts for everything done on this very fun sleeper. I built this truck to disappoint people that thought their 5-series BMW was quick at lights... and it does very well at that! Not only that, but the truck runs very smooth, starts right up. I spared no expense on this truck (in the areas touched), I built it to be pushed and handle it well. I searched high and low for a transmission that could take the massive amount of torque the built 460 makes, for those who don't know, Coan is the same company that makes the transmissions for the Gravedigger and Maximum Destruction monster trucks to name a few. The transmission does a great job of putting it directly to the ground, no mush! I do have a spare 9" rear end for it, that is one project I never completed. The rear axle it it now makes a little more noise than I'd like, and it overpowers the stock limited slip, but drives down the road fine - I wouldn't drive it super far as is. If I were keeping the truck it would be getting a built rear axle with a locker. Quick specs: 1977 F150, C6, 460, 9" rear (it was equipped this way from the factory) MSD 6AL-2 ignition ($250) COMP Cams Xtreme Energy 4x4 Cam and Lifter Kit CL34-235-4 ($200) Lokar kickdown cable ($90) 650cfm Holley ($270) Speed Pro H535CP40 - Sealed Power Hypereutectic Pistons ($270) New hardware (bolts) for front clip assembly - all factory correct ($185) Alternator ($74) Transmission cooler and streetrod convertor ($282) Stealth intake ($185) Ram air kit ($100) Headers ($355) High volume oil pump, timing set, gasket kit ($180) Duralast battery with warranty ($160) Custom curved distributor ($155) Coan Transmission ($1,310) Interior fastener kit ($100) BFG TA Radials - less than 3,000 miles ($475) Nomad II Wheels, lugnuts, and center caps ($300) Misc items on receipts (over $500) Machine work - bored 40 over, new cam bearings, main bearings line bored, pistons pressed $400 Port and polish of heads (D3's, stainless valves) - $1,100 (Re-incarnation) Completely new wiring harness, front to rear. Truck now uses mini fuses, all electronics work! $350 Pioneer CD player, two JL W3 subs, 4 channel amp (not a poser stereo, just needed to hear the music at speed on the highway, haha) $600 Other new interior items including brand new carpet, dynomat style sound deadening, replacement passenger floor welded in with seam sealer $300 I'm sure there is more I am missing - point being, everything I touched as I tore the truck down went back on in better shape than it came off. The result is a truck that is ready to drive and drive as is - or ready to be a project with all of the mechanical work already done. I used brand-name parts ordered from Summit and Jegs for most of the above, some interior and fastener parts from LMC Truck - have a folder full of receipts. Add up the above and you get to right around $8,000 in hard expenses, I paid $1,000 for the truck originally, and anyone that knows these projects knows I have easily $1,000 in misc items that I am not listing above (ARP fasteners, new radiator, custom exhaust system, Magnaflow exhaust etc etc etc!!). So, why am I selling this truck? I built this truck in a 2 car garage - it wasn't easy and took up every square inch of space I had. I simply do not have the facility to take it to the next level like I'd like to. At this time, I'd rather see someone else put all of this hard work to better use than I am able to. Keep in mind, I winterized this truck in October and haven't driven it more than about 10 miles since - I highly suggest it is trailered home if you are going very far until you have a chance to go through it. The truck is 37 years old and body shows some rust, but is much more solid than most trucks of this age! Very solid, the body is certainly worth saving. That said, please look at the pictures VERY close, there are more dings, scratches, and little rust spots than I could clearly describe in an ad,. Please ask any and all questions in advance! I have 100% feedback, have sold multiple vehicles, and always aim to have buyers pleasantly surprised instead of disappointed. In a sale like this, it is hard to put every detail in the ad, but I will say that if you ask a question or want to discuss on the phone, you'll find I'm honest to a fault - I hope the next owner of this truck has as much of a smile on his or her face every time they hear (and feel) it fire up as I still do! Below is a link to a video of this truck running this weekend - right after sitting all winter long. Not that the oil pressure runs over 30 psi at idle, around 55 cruising, and temp stays right at 160. I use mechanical gauges as the factor ones were not accurate enough for my liking. http://youtu.be/vNfPGZnDH6Y On Mar-18-14 at 07:01:05 PDT, seller added the following information: Couple of details to add based on questions I am getting so far:- Transmission is a C6- Exact axle ratios are not known, but I have counted rotations and they appear to be somewhere slightly below 3.50- The truck is a dual tank model, but like most, the rear tank stopped working long ago and has been removed- The start price of the truck is FAR below what I value the truck at, but I run all of my auctions with no reserve and a low starting bid, letting the bidders set the price. Thanks to all that have asked questions and shown interest, someone will be getting a great deal on a very fun truck!
