Vehicle Detail
1961 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible 283/4-Speed, California Car ......please be patient while the many photos load..... 1961 Chevrolet Corvette for sale in Sonoma California. Finished in classic Jewel Blue w/White Coves. Same owner since 1986. Starts right up and runs smooth with plenty of power and excellent cooling. Most mechanical systems replaced or rebuilt over the years including front suspension, brakes and coil springs, king pin bushings and tie rod ends. Has new shocks and exhaust system. Recently a new top and frame along with a new interior were fitted as well as all new weather stripping. In addition it has a new front wiring harness, cleaned and sealed gas tank and a rebuilt wiper motor. A new clutch was just installed along with pressure plate, pilot and throw-out bearings and new shifting linkage so it shifts perfectly. Everything functions properly with exception of the clock and blinker switch which is not turning off automatically upon turning. Otherwise, this driver quality classic corvette is highly functional, a joy to drive and reliable enough to get in, turn the key and have a great summer driving it anywhere you want to take it. On Mar-19-14 at 14:43:44 PDT, seller added the following information: Have had many phone calls and emails and while most I've spoken to already know, I just want to be clear that this car does not have the fuel injection. By the emblems it appears that at it may have originally been a fuelie but now is carburetored as you can see by the air filter. Also I want to note that the 283 is not numbers matching. Available by phone at 707-332-8331. Thanks, DonnOn Mar-20-14 at 09:34:40 PDT, seller added the following information: More Updates: The engine is a 283ci from a 1958 Corvette, rebuilt in the late 80's and driven no more than 10-15,000 miles since. Has hardened seats for unleaded fuel. You will notice oil on the bottom of the mufflers. That was from leaking valve cover gaskets that have recently been replaced.
