Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a 1962 Chevy Impala convertible. I purchased this car from a friend who owned it for at least 10 years. He kept up with what the car needed and used it for car shows etc. He loved the car but family issues forced him to sell it. He had replaced all the main chrome front and back .He Up graded the transmission a 700R4 fith overdrive to accommodate the upgraded rebuilt 400 Chevy block with slant port heads. He had the interior door panels replaced with new and did new interior. He replace all the side chrome and hood chrome. (LOTS OF BUCKS)He also had the cars rocker panels repaired because of some rust spots coming through. He replaced the convertible top and did all the mechanics as well as new tires and rims. The paint job is only 2 years old and shines like new. The dash is in perfect condition as is the steering wheel , pedals and window cranks. The windshield wipers work and heater and defroster also work . Trunk is like new and car has no damage. The car runs great, starts right up and goes down the road like it did in 62. I know because I had one in 62. This car is a great buy for the person who want to own a rare desired 62 Convertible. I find on one flaw with this car and that is the way they repaired the rockers. They cut out rusty metal and patched them. This is not the way I would do it so I had my body man look at this job and he says it will cost approximately 1200$ to tare it all out and do it right. Since I have no intention of keeping the car due to my large collection and lack of room I preferred too just use the car as it is. I know many collectors do it this way and are happy but I would not list the car holding back this information. To the laymen's eye it looks great. Who ever gets the car will enjoy it as I have. Questions call Tom 914 886 5551. Car can be inspected at Port St lucie Florida.Car is garage kept.
