Vehicle Detail
First off, this car is QUICK and FAST. I traded one of my motorcycles to a friend of mine a few years ago for a 1995 Caprice SS 9C1. This past summer, he decided he wanted it back and I took his 1987 Conquest with a Chevrolet 355 small block conversion in partial trade. Before I got it, he put an add for it on the internet (you know the site), but then changed his mind, deciding not to sell it. The following is the add he placed at the time: 1987 conquest TSI 355 SBC red blk leather rust free sale or trade - $40001987 Chrysler Conquest TSI super clean southern carred with black leather interior, rear tinted windows.power windows, no power steering.Small block chevy engine. 355, headers, edlebrock intake, holley 750 dbl pumper, accel distributer, high-stall converter, B&M ratchet shifter, Tooms limited slip differential.Southern carstreet legal.needs rad repositioned or stock rad (working on that now may be done shortly) also heater core currently bypassed rear mounted batteryflowmaster duals that come out on an angle in front of rear tires.reliable, drove from Iowa city to pittsburgh straight shot with no problems.Asking $4000 or trade? Me, again! When he drove it from Iowa, the temporary set-up had a rad sticking out of a slot cut in the hood. You can see in the pictures that condition has been dealt with. Also, I found a boneyard Conquest with a good factory radiator and fans. I had it cleaned and pressure tested and it's good-to-go. I also got a bunch of extra little stuff it needed like hatch struts and some trim pieces, as well as a bunch of extra interior parts, although the interior is already pretty nice, and it's leather. It's got a great body, super clean undercarriage, and runs like a bear. Sounds beastly, too. It does need finishing and some re-doing of some detail work. The cooling system needs installing (easy). The "custom" under-hood fuse block and wiring should be redone. Things work, but it's pretty much an amateurish hack job using all gray wires and the glass fuses from the 70's-80's. But again, an easy fix with a little time and $20 in materials. The handle for the ratchet shifter is gone because my buddy took it to a local mom-and-pop hardware store to match the threads for a lock nut, left it because they were going to thread one for him, then the store wound up closing. Anyway, through the car, just little jobs. Nothing crazy. It's got the goods. Strong small-block Chevy, built tranny, aftermarket driveshaft, Tooms limited slip differential. Good body. Good interior. Why don't I finish it myself? WAAAAAAAAY too many projects and not enough me. I just don't have time for anything these days. I'll be selling a bunch of other stuff, too. Selling AS-IS. Thanks!
