Vehicle Detail
1981 Honda CB750F. This is one of the classic superbikes of the 80's. It has been modified a bit from it's original form by the prior owner, but could be put back to original without too much work. The bike has: -750cc DOHC air cooled inline 4 -Aftermarket 4 to 1 exhaust of unknown brand -Accel high performance coil packs -Mikuni VM29 smooth bore carbs! (these are aftermarket racing carbs) -Aluminum triple tree with clip ons -Drilled rotors front and rear -All bearings are tight -Chain and sprockets look good -Front tire and brakes are good Now for the negative: -It will need a rear tire due to wear -Could use a real paint job...if you're worried about it. It's just rattle canned now, but looks good when you step back a bit. -Sometimes it smokes on initial startup, but clears after a minute...It's an 81 after all! -The bike has problems idling when warm. This is likely just a carb tuning issue and has been like this since I've had it. Runs great other than the idle issue. -It could use rear shocks, they don't have much dampening. I got so used to it I never made it top priority to replace them. -The bike has been down, only evident by a rip in the seat, crack in the headlight bucket and speedo, and a worn spot on the end of the clutch handle, all rather unnoticeable unless you look. I kinda had a meeting with bambi last year...but I've put about 3000 miles on it since. The bike is rideable with a new rear tire (holds air but has a lot of center wear from interstate riding). Or this would make a great project for the CB enthusiast!!!
