Up for auction is this unique 1958 Jeep FC-170. This is a Forward Control model with a 3-speed manual shift. The previous owner had the rear body fabricated especially for hunting. The hunting body features upper and lower seats that still have the original protectors on them. The body was designed for transporting and running hunting dogs. It features kennels for the dogs, coolers, a water tank, and racks for holding guns. This is a well designed and built unit, with solid doors, sturdy frame, it even has cushioned armrests on the hunting seats. The upgraded front bumper features a wench. Previous owner said that the mileage shown was original. The frame and undercarriage are in good shape with no rust issues. Restored versions of these have gotten into the $20k range. This Jeep has currently been started up and driven a small distance. The engine sounds great and the brakes seem to be working. The headlights are also working. The wench on the front has not been tested out. This is a solid and pretty complete Jeep for a 1958. The previous owner kept it in a garage since 1976 (the last time it was registered). It does need new tires and a brake checkup, once those are done it should be ready for use. The cab is in good shape, the floor pans are solid. There is some surface rust, however it would make a great restoration. This would make a great addition to a hunting camp, or a personal collection.
