Vehicle Detail
Hello, We have a very nice 1971 Beetle Classic (non-super beetle) It has been partially restored by our grandfather. I will do my best to answer any questions. Please see pictures for details. Let me know if you would like any other pictures. Arizona car - rust free Suspension rebuilt - drives like new71,000 original milesNew tiresComes with Amplilux Porche headlights ($300- $500 value here on eBay) Pretty cool!Pan is straight - rust free - even under the batteryComes with original rear shocks (I thought this was interesting, most original shocks have been tossed (new shocks are installed) Cruises the highway at 65mph all day, passes at 80mphHeater works VERY well, it will roast you out on high, does have some exhaust smell when on, I'm told to look at the "J-tube (?)Brass visor rods added by g-pa, probably the most useful idea ever, these wont break and look nice. Things to considerThe "High/Low" switch for the headlights on column does not stay on high when switching between the two, the headlights are switched on with a turn-style switch on the dash. The original headlight switch works for the driving lights and dash light dimming. Intake boots need replacing soon, all gaskets and boots are includedTypical oil leak (I have not chased the location - it is a small leak - about a half quart in 3000 miles)The wiring in the boot looks messy to me - but everything works; the dome light tooThe dash was painted orange - Not a good job on taping the pillars off but I'm not going to fault him, he was 80 years old! :) ... I asked why he painted it orange (it was white before) He said he "liked it". Q. "Why are you selling it" A. This beetle was given to us by our grandfather as a wedding gift. We are expecting out first child in July. We will miss all the peace signs and conversations at the gas station but it has become our only vehicle and we need something more suitable to carry a new-born Payment: Sold as is, Were is, no refunds accepted for this listing. $500 immediate, non-refundable payment at end of auction via Paypal Remainder within 3 days (72 hours) via - cash, Paypal, or certified bank cashiers check.Shipping:No delivery available. However I will work with your shipping company any way I can. Would I recommend driving this cross country? - No, it is a 43 year old car, however, we have taken it to Phoenix three times now and it does very well on the highway. Do this at your own risk!
