Vehicle Detail
Great old '49 Jeepster project. I purchased this a while back, with plans to finish the restoration, but I am now having my knee replaced, so I have decided to sell it. I restore old Corvettes, and I know nothing about Jeepsters, except I believe they only came in two wheel drive. This one has been converted to Buick V8 engine with four wheel drive, with a PTO winch on the front. It actually has 5 gear shift levers...Transmission shift, two or four wheel drive, high/low range, power takeoff engage, and winch engage. I just had new upholstery installed. It needs new top material ($350 on ebay), but the convertible top frame appears to be complete. Includes the four pictured side curtains. I was told this was restored in 1965, driven some until the motor blew a head gasket, and has been garaged ever since. It was purchased from an estate sale, and has an open clear title. The body is very solid, with great patina on the still nice old paint. Some minor chips, scratches, and checking, but it all just adds to the character. I would definitely not repaint it, as it looks great exactly as it is. The instruments and no doubt other things need to be wired. I have obviously not heard it run, so assume the engine will need some repair, and the condition of the driveline is also unknown. The chrome appears to be in excellent condition, and mostly complete. This is a really cool old Jeepster, just needing someone to finish it. Inspections are welcomed and encouraged, as it is obviously sold in as is condition. My surgery is January 29th, so it would be best to pick it up prior to that. Call Joe at 801 455 2467 for further information. Trades may be considered, such as a running '55 or older Chevy pickup, '62 and older Corvette parts, or whatever else I can't live without.....
