Vehicle Detail
Note: You can bid on it, hit the buy it now, or you can also make an offer through ebay email to end the auction. This is a very cool old street rod. Built as a very reliable cruiser street rod. The always rust free California body is in perfect condition. No rust repairs EVER. The paint is show quality. This car was disassembled to be painted with a base coat / clear coat dark blue. Even the bottom of the doors are as shinny as the sides. The chrome and stainless trim is show quality. Glass is all excellent. The interior is show quality with 3 exceptions. It needs kick panels installed. ( New blue ones are in the trunk ). The front carpet section should be replaced. It has a large cut in it where the shifter sticks through. Hard to see unless you are looking right at it, but it is there. The strips of carpet on the bottom of the front doors has faded. The steering wheel is a custom, totally restored 1949 Oldsmobile " butter fly horn ring" wheel. It was customized with metal flake paint, pin stripping, and new chrome. I will take off $500.00 to keep the wheel and replace it with the stock one in the trunk if you do not like it. The speedometer is not working but I have a new cable for it. Gas gauge does not work but I have a new sending unit for it also. Wipers do not work. Never checked them out. May just be the old vacuum unit that needs to be worked back and forth to loosen it up. All lights work but there are no turn signals. They were an option in 1949. Engine is a rebuilt 1965 283 power pack 4 barrel. Starts right up and runs out great. Plenty of power. Trans is a 350 turbo. Shifts great. Rear end is a drum to drum 1957 Chevy. Stock chassis and brakes are all rebuilt. Drives, steers, and stops excellent. There is a complete 1954 steering system in the trunk which I have been told will make it steer even better. It is a direct bolt in replacement. Various other extra parts in the trunk also and a small can of left over paint. Tires are new. Personally, I would replace them with wide white wall tires to give the car some more "pop". Car was lowered by using lowering springs up front and lowering blocks in the rear. These old fleetline torpedo back GMs are very popular right now and one in better condition than this one would be very hard to find. I have priced this car for a quick sale before winter sets in. I've seen them made into gassers, rat rods, lead sleds, customs, and various other cool cars. NO TRADES NO TRADES NO TRADES For those of you over seas; I have sold quite a few cars to guys in Austria, Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, Germany, etc. so I know how that works. Now for the business end. I encourage you, or someone you trust or hire, to come by and check out the vehicle in person. I will refund your deposit if the vehicle does not match the above description. The vehicle does not leave here until all funds clear my bank. Bank and cashiers checks can take up to 10 business days. My bank will give me a letter stating the date when the check will clear. I will forward a copy of the letter to you. Bank transfers can take up to 2 days depending on what time of the day it is initiated on your end. Again, my bank will let me know when it clears. Cash is great if picking it up in person. Call me at 314-732-592five to get honest answers to all of your questions BEFORE YOU BID. Thanks, Dave I do not respond to text messages One more time, NO TRADES, Please do not ask. If you do not know, understand, and accept what "no trades" means, then you surely do not have a car that I would not be interested in. I do not respond to low ball offers, text messages, or take offers over the phone. If you want to make an offer, please do so through ebay email. Include your name and contact info. If I feel you are a serious buyer, I will contact you back. If you do not hear back from me, then my vehicle must be out of your price range. Once my vehicle hits it's reserve price, I will not end the auction. I do not give out my reserve price. Too many knuckleheads out there that like to play games with bidding just under the reserve amount with no intention of actually buying a vehicle. Makes it look like schill bidding is going on. If you have a feed back rating less that 100% or zero feedback, you might want to check with me before bidding. I will sometimes block bidders or cancel bids if I get a bad feeling for the bidder. For you new members, please don't bid unless you know and accept how ebay works and understand that you are legally committing to purchase if you bid. Not following through with a purchase after winning an auction for a new member can result in ebay canceling your membership. If you need a good, reliable, dependable, and reasonable shipper, please try Mark and Lorrie at 479-799-1609. Tell them Dave Walters from Fenton, MO told you to call them to get the best rate. Thanks to all, good luck with your bidding, and have a great day, Dave
