This car has always lived in Texas since new, and has only had one owner since new. The Carfax is perfectly clean. The engine is very strong and everything works great with no issues. The transmission shifts perfect. The tires are Yokohama and nearly new. I've put about 150 miles on this vehicle myself and it has performed flawlessly. This "ALH" generation of the TDI engine is well known for its excellent economy and durability, and this one in particular has been very well cared for, so it runs and drives exceptionally well. I drive a 2003 VW Jetta TDI myself, and have been driving VW TDI's as my personal vehicle for several years, so I can attest to the fact that these are great cars to start with - but that's especially true when you find one that's been well maintained such as this one has. Since this car has only lived in Texas since new, it hasn't ever been exposed to snow or salted roads. Therefore, there isn't any rust or corrosion anywhere on the car, top or bottom. I do have the clean and clear original Texas title "in hand" and ready for the buyer. It shows the original owners bought the car from Hiley VW in Arlington, TX with 33 miles in February of 2000. I use a local TDI specialist for my own VW TDI, so as soon as I got this car it went straight to him for a thorough checking. He checked it out and serviced it very thoroughly, and put about 20 miles on it himself to road test it. He has the special VAG-COM computer system which allows him to communicate with every module and parameter on the car to give it a thorough mechanical checking. He did the following service work on this car:- New Timing Belt- Cleaned all carbon from intake manifold and EGR system-New Intake Manifold and EGR Gaskets- New Oil Change- New Fuel Filter- New Glow Plugs (All 4)- New Glow Plug Relay/Wiring Harness- New Front Sway Bar Bushings This car is ready to drive anywhere you want to take it and it drives great. No smoke, no leaks, no strange noises. Runs and drives great. The interior is in good condition. Everything looks very good with little wear showing, and all the upholstery is original (with the exception of the headliner, which I just had replaced) and in good condition with no tears or stains anywhere. The A/C is cold and the Heat is hot. The only real flaw is the rear hatch does not lock. There is some typical older VW interior wear on the plastics and such, but everything looks pretty good. The exterior also looks good. All body panels are original, the Carfax Report is perfectly clean, and there's no evidence of any previous accidents or damage. The paint shines great. A few tiny paint nicks, a couple tiny windshield rock chips, and some very light and very tiny hail dings on the hood and roof. This car really looks great. The exterior is quite clean. This Golf is ready to be driven anywhere you want to take it. If you'd like to fly in and drive it home, I'll personally bring it to you at the airport when you arrive.
