Vehicle Detail
1962 TRIUMPH VITESSE SPORTS 6. One of approx. 200 sold in the US. Most of these Vitesses have died and gone to car heaven. This is a survivor well worth adopting. 6 cyl. 1600cc. 4 speed. Twin Solex carbs. Car is in good running and driving condition. Good compression and oil pressure. Gears and clutch are fine. Decent tires. Good steering , shocks and suspension. Brand new Robbins top and top boot. Original tonneau cover and carpets. I purchase this cool car about a year ago from the widow of the previous owner who owned and drove it for the past 25 years. (maintenance invoices included). I was informed that the car had been involved about 20 years ago in a front end traffic accident and because another hood was not available the car was written off by the insurance company and issued a salvage title. The owner was able to retain ownership and found a used hood which was installed on the car. The hood is in good condition and there was no other damage to the car. I have a clear Calif title in my name with current tags and the word "salvage" is on the title. Because of the rarity of this car this never bothered me. A car is a car whatever the title says! Please check in your State if this inscription stays or dis-appears on a new title. I have put a fair reserve price that takes this into account and also represents what I have invested in the car. A great addition to any Triumph car collection. 50s and 60s British convertibles were not very rain proof and water had a tendency to collect in the floors. I have included photos of the floor to show where there are a few holes. These would not be hard to fix and certainly do not need floor replacement. As I am not the first owner I cannot say what the mileage is but it can be worked out by mileages on the invoices. I have tried to describe the car fairly. It does need some attention but is a rare model with great potential. You are welcome to visit in Tarzana (San Fernando Valley part of Los Angeles). Please call 818 705 8655.
