Vehicle Detail

Hi, you are looking at a very nice restored '48 Studebaker. It has a quality black paint and body job. The fenders were removed @ the time and reinstalled with new fender welting. The body must have been very nice as I have been all over this car and don't find filler. There was one spot about the size of a playing card that was welded in on the floor. The under carriage has been painted and is neat and clean. It is not detailed to show standards, just neat and clean and obviously the car was a good one prior to restoration. The interior has received full upholstery with new carpets in black and new door panels, kick panels, seat upholstery and headliner in grey. The entire trunk area is also reupholstered in grey felt. There has been a lot of new chrome plating but the bumpers are original and would benefit from a trip to the Bumper Boys. The car sits on 5 matched radials. Clean original Stude hubcaps and trim rings grace the restored wheels. Under the hood it is also neat and clean with evidence of a lot of work done. New gaskets, clamps, hoses, ignition parts, heater controls and duct, battery and so on. It is like the rest of the car, neat and clean and correct looking. The car drives down the road like a properly restored and maintained car. I drove it all Summer. The car tracks straight with no wander. You can take your hands off the wheel and it doesn't take matters into it's own hands. The same with the brakes. When applied the car stops straight and true. It doesn't grab or head for the ditch etc. The overdrive works excellently and engages crisply with the push of the knob. The interior hood release works smoothly. The clock doesn't work. I don't have a key to the glovebox. The rest of the car is set to enjoy right now. I really can't think of any other good or bad points but please come see the car in person or ask lots of questions. I am serious about selling and the car will be sold. I ask that you take bidding seriously and do not bid if you cannot complete the sale. I have a 100% feedback and want to make friends not enemies. Maine is not a title state so sold on bill of sale. I do have a title from another state that came with the car. I don't know about titles. We don't use them in Maine. I guess that is all. Bid high and bid often, regards, Rick.On Nov-16-13 at 14:01:39 PST, seller added the following information: Hi, thanks for asking I guess but all I will say about the reserve is that it is low so bid if you want a nice car. The low reserve may pleasantly surprise you. I'm hesitant to sell the Stude below the buy it now as it currently has a bid on it. I'd prefer to let the auction run it's course. Bid high and bid often. Thanks, Rick. I should have mentioned that it is in good storage in my barn under a car cover and sitting on a wood floor. It can sit for a while if necessary while you arrange shipping or pick up. I want it paid for, but no pressure to get it right away if it helps you.
