This car was purchased from an elderly man, one owner. I was told it ran when put up in 2005, I believe him. It doesn't however run now, but engines aren't my thing either, and Ive put no effort into it. I did connect a battery and the alternator started smoking, I stopped there and have made no further attempts. I was told the smoking was most likely due to rust shorting it out. Over all, cosmetically I think it's in very good condition, I wouldn't have bought it otherwise. I'm selling it because I simply don't have the time. It's a neat and unusual car. I've listed everything above that is wrong with the car that I know of. I have the original owners manual which is very informative. From my research I believe this car was one of the first fuel injected cars, it has been converted over to a single carburator however. According to Wikipedia, only 117,110 of these cars were sold in the US from 1971-1974. Wonder how many there are now? This is an opportunity to own a very rare VW in pretty good condition for a reasonable price. Good luck. Ask questions, I'll answer the best I can. Look at the pics. Sold as is.
