up for sale is this 1971 Alfa Romeo GTV. Serial # is 1532382 model 105.51. According to the Alfa Romeo Storico this car was built on April 21, 1971 and was sold April 22, 1971 to Alfa Romeo Newark (NJ, ALFA USA headquarters). The body color is amaranth red with wild boar leather tex interior. the previous owner installed a rebuilt 2.0 litre engine with ported and polished heads, oversized valves and performance cam. the has about 2,000 miles on it. the engine would need a tune up, and is spica injected. trans and diff seem fine. has alfa romeo bolt in roll bar, not yet installed. the suspension has been lowered with new konis installed. the lower suspension arms have been drilled out like on GTAMs. previous owner installed new front calipers, pads, and master cylinder. there is a magnaflow exhaust system installed. the body is in generally very good condition. some evidence of minor damage on the left rear quarter panel. supposedly a tree limb fell on the car. rest of the body shows little evidence of bondo, and is very straight. overall the sheet metal is in good condition in the floor and trunk area. the door jams, trunk and engine bay have been painted with a strange purple color????? rust is virtually not present. this car came from New Mexico which is very arid. some minor rust was attended to by the previous owner. the dash board features aluminum panels rather than the stock factory plastic. there are some new gauges, and a lot of street trim pieces that are present although most are old original items. most of the trim is present and in good condition. badging, grill pieces, and alfa logo chrome grill is present. has new hood, and front windshield. rear glass is good, no interior door panels, nor front side window glass. rear quarter window glass is present. has front and rear bumpers. my intention was to make a replica GTAM out of this car as the serial # of this car falls within the known serial number range of original GTAMs. however, other projects have taken longer than expected (what else is new!), and this one is ready for an Alfa enthusiast who is looking to build his dream machine. for someone wishing to make a race car, or a serious street piece this is a good platform to start with. some body work, paint, a seat and you would be up and running. original seats come the car but would need to be redone. comes with clear New Mexico title. car is located at Sears Point Raceway, Sonoma, California. you can pick it up there or send a car hauler.
