Vehicle Detail
This is a very original, rare, and solid 1960 Pontiac 2 door sedan Star Chief. Out of over 406,000 Pontiacs produced in 1960, only 5,700 were 2 door sedan Star Chiefs. Only has 85642 original miles on her. The body is very solid and rust free but it does need a paint job. All original sheet metal, floor pans, rockers, trunk pan, etc. The chrome and stainless trim is in good to excellent condition. The rear bumper has a small dent dead center and the body has a dent by the gas tank lid from some mishap. See pics. The missing "Pontiac" letters on the hood, the missing "Star Chief" scripts on the front fenders, and the missing mirror are in the trunk. The guy that had this car was going to eliminate most trim. Luckily he stopped where he did and that he did not weld the holes up. The holes are only filled with body filler from the back side. The original steering wheel is also in the trunk along with boxes of extra parts and trim. It even comes with the original 8-lug wheel spare tire hold down pieces and bumper jack. The interior is all original except the carpet which has been replaced at some point. It is in very nice shape. The dash is very nice and all gauges / lights work including the radio. Even the green "cold" light comes on until the engine warms up. Now for the most important features this car has. The drive line and under carriage. This car is numbers matching with the exception of the tri-power set up. It came from the factory with the 283 HP 2 barrel 389 engine. The tri-power set up is from a 1959 car. I have all receipts for the engine and transmission rebuilds. They have zero miles on them. I also have receipts for where the entire suspension, rear end, brakes, brake lines, brake drums, springs, shocks, exhaust, bushings, ball joints, etc, where replaced are completely rebuilt. Even the 8 lug brake drums were sent out to be totally restored / relined. ( very expensive to do ). All suspension parts, including the entire rear end were totally taken apart, sand blasted, painted, rebuilt, and put back together again. The gas tank was removed, cleaned, checked for leaks, blasted, and re-painted. The engine compartment is totally detailed. It too was taken apart, sand blasted, and repainted. I even have the receipts for all of the silica sand the guy bought for his sand blaster. Tires are brand new Coker wide white radials. Even have a matching new tire for a spare. Note: I also have a very rare 1961 manual bell housing, fly wheel, and clutch pedal set-up that could go with the car for extra money if a 4 speed is more to your liking. I will not sell the manual set-up until the car sells, so please do not ask. All in all. This car only needs a paint job to be a very cool, rare, and dependable car. You will not likely see another one like it at any event you take it to. NO TRADES NO TRADES NO TRADES For those of you over seas; I have sold quite a few cars to guys in Austria, Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, etc. so I know how that works. Now for the business end. The vehicle does not leave here until all funds clear my bank. Bank and cashiers checks can take up to 10 business days. My bank will give me a letter stating the date when the check will clear. I will forward a copy of the letter to you. Bank transfers can take up to 2 days depending on what time of the day it is initiated on your end. Again, my bank will let me know when it clears. Cash is great if picking it up in person. Call me at 314-732-592five to get honest answers to all of your questions BEFORE YOU BID. Dave One more time, NO TRADES, Please do not ask. If you do not know, understand, and accept what "no trades" means, then you surely do not have a car that I would not be interested in. I do not respond to low ball offers, text messages, or take offers over the phone. If you want to make an offer, please do so through ebay email. Include your name and contact info. If I feel you are a serious buyer, I will call you back. If you do not hear back from me, then my car must be out of your price range. Once my car hits it's reserve price, I will not end the auction, and No, I do not give out my reserve price. If you have a feed back rating less that 100% or zero feedback, you might want to check with me before bidding. I will sometimes block or cancel bids if I get a bad feeling for the bidder. For you new members, please don't bid unless you know and accept how ebay works and understand that you are legally committing to purchase if you bid. Not following through with a purchase after winning an auction for a new member can result in ebay canceling your membership. Thanks to all, good luck with your bidding, and have a great day, Dave
